I would like to scan a document. I am using the All In One printer. I am using a brother printer with the printer, fax, copier, scanner, and PC fax. How to I begin to scan my document?

Hi Gerrid,
There should be a scan program on the pc or a scan button on the scanner itself. You can go to the brother website and see if you can find a downloadable program for this unit. Alternatively, if the scanner is 'seen' by the pc, you can search your Windows program for "Windows Fax and Scan" from which you can select "Scan", if the printer is seen it will do the job, if not, it will tell you "No Scanner found".
If the scanner is not found, you can go to "Device Manager" and do a scan of the pc to detect "Plug and Play" devices. This should find the scanner.
I hope this answers your query, Please rate and comment, Thank You Joe

When i try to print something it doesn't make anything.Sometimes it works. What i do wrong?

Verify the printer is installed correctly. Make sure the drivers for the printer are up to date by downloading the newest ones from the printer's manufacturer. Also, make sure all connections to the printer are tight, meaning they are plugged in correctly and are not becoming disconnected. If the connections are fine and the drivers are up to date, reinstall the printer. Assuming the operating system you are using is Windows, go to Start->Devices and Printers-> then right click the printer and select uninstall. To reinstall, insert the CD that came with the printer and follow the instructions on the printer. If you do not have the CD, plug the printer in and Windows will install with the default driver if it has one.

My printer is printing everything with white lines running thru it what can I do to fix this

Try this

- installing the newest driver from the manufacturer's website.

- I'm assuming its a inkjet printer correct? go into the settings of the software for the printer and click clean inkjet cartridge heads. You could take the cartridge out and clean the head on the bottom with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Be careful not to touch the dotted part of the ribbon on the back side of the in cartridge. You don't want to get it dirty with fingerprints or anything on it. (thats how the printer recognizes the cartridge is in place and measures the levels of ink.) Place it back into the printer and see if it prints without white lines. Could be that your cartridge is low on ink too, they can just dry out from sitting if you rarely use them. Pretty nice for something so expensive huh?

I have a Brother MFC-495CW model printer. It was working perfectly until I replaced the blank ink cartridge. Now when I print a simple Word document the output is very fuzzy the same characters are printed...

Only a few possibilities. Did you try to replace the software driver? Another possibility is that your Cartridge is used or recycled or old. Get a new one from the original manufacture, and second is that this one is defective. I have seen it way too often. If either does not fix the problem, your main unit that hold the ink jet cartridges is defective and you will have to buy a new one. If all other functions such as copy, scanning, faxing is working, I doubt it is any electronics. In any case, sometimes it is cheaper to purchase a new unit then to buy replacment parts and the time it takes to do the actual replacement.

My hp deskjet 3745 wont print because it is off line. how do i get it back on line and for it to stay that way. this happens often.

hello lblb45. Under control panel - printers and faxes - doble click on your HP printer and you will see the status of the printer (either printer offline, out of ink, or out of paper, etc. Click on printer option on the top and unselect the "Use Printer Offline" option. That usually happens because the print spooler service looses connection to the printer at some point. Did you try with another USB cable or reinstall the drivers? I hope this helps.

Long delays the first time ANYTHING is tried

Your symptoms sound like a slow hard drive. The first time you run Word or some other program the PC has to read the file from the hard drive into memory. You have enough RAM so that the program is still stored there till the next time you run the same program. When you run it again RAM is much faster so you experience the increased speed. This is fairly typical behavior for a PC; in fact one of the big industry discussions right now is how Vista with its huge operating system is really going to strain the limits of traditional hard drives. While Word can take anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds to load on a typical PC Corel Draw is a much larger program and takes considerably longer. Things that could affect your hard drive speed: - It could just be an older hard drive. Generally the smaller the hard drive the older and slower it is. If you hard drive is smaller than 20 GB then an upgrade will boost your speed - Your drive may not be configured to work as efficiently as it could. If you?re using IDE hard drives make sure the channel is running DMA not PIO. - Your drive could be heavily fragmented. I?m generally not a big fan of defragging since the results are seldom worth it. In you case you may get enough of a boost to make a difference. Make sure you have a backup just in case something goes awry. - Drive interface, IDE is the slowest, next is EIDE and the fastest is Serial ATA or SATA which is replacing IDE/EIDE on newer motherboards.
