This is a typical symptom of a defective water inlet valve. If you post back with your brand and model number, it would make it much easier in providing you with accurate instructions on how to access the valve and replace it.

Our machine keeps dripping water once load is finished. We have turned off water and checked hoses as well as the water inlet valve. Everything looks fine. It is only when the hot water is on, I shut...

I would replace the inlet valves. Even though the issue is only a drip now, the failing hot water inlet will drip enough water to overflow and flood your floor if left unattended. The failure code you see is because the washer senses the water connections. It is telling you that there's no hot water available. Replace the valve- soon.

Good luck.

Water won't shut off completely - keeps dripping into the tub after entire cycle has been completed. It occured after water was shut off to replace hose.

Good day,
The diaphragm inside the dual water valve has failed, and the valve will have to be replaced.
The fact you changed a hose really has no relationship to the problem. Just coincidence.
Here is a tutorial on how to access the area needed to change the valve. The tutorial is not about the valve but allows you to gain access to the valve.

Water drip

There is a water fill valve that allows water in, mixes cold and hot water or shuts it off. Its location is where the hot and cold water hoses connect to the washer.
Get the model number off the machine and go to the web site below and you can see the valve and also the cost of the valve should you choose to fix it.

Good luck, let me know.

Kenmore Elite HE3

I don't know if this will help or not, but my machine has gone through (2) fill valve assemblies so far. In one case, it wouldn't fully shut-off and was also erratic. I replaced it (very easy to do) and that fixed the problem. I think my machine is an HE2, but I'd guess it's probably the same parts... (Parts available through the Sears web site. The last one I bought was around $55 for the assembly.)
