Nakamichi PA-506 Car Audio Amplifier

Nakamichi vs. Phoenix Gold amps

By Bomber - usenet poster

I'm trying to decide which is the better amp to run my mids and highs.

I'm split between the "Nakamichi PA-504 400w 4-Ch Amp" and the
"Phoenix Gold ZX475ti 75X4"

Can anyone give me some idea of which would be a better choice for my
application?

Which amp produces better sound for mids and highs?

-Chris

I have used Nakamichi PA506 quite some time. PA 506 is 50w x 6ch (at 4ohm), and PA504 is
50w x 4ch (at 4ohm). The sound quality of Nakamich amplifier is very good, however it
gets very hot indeed.

In Japan there was modified version available which eased the getting-hot problems.

Phoenix Gold Titanum series amplfier is also very good one for sound quality and you
don't get the heat like Nakamichi's.

If you normally play longer hours in your car, I would rather not recommend Nakamichi
amplifier.

The Nak hands down.

The PG is a brute....alot of power but no class.

The Nak is nice but you'd be giving away a little bit of power to the
PG amp. That being said the PG ti series amplifiers still have great
SQ when set up properly. Heck I've got a 50Wx2 section of my PG Outlaw
running my Dynaudio's and it's still sounding very clean...
