Channels change by themselves after 20-30 minutes of tv being on
This week my TV started going crazy on me. I'll be watching TV and the channels will just start changing on their own on the TV itself ( not the Directv) No matter what I do it will not stop and when I try the TV menu the tv is still going crazy through the menu options and will not stop. Finally I give up and shut the tv off. After about 10 to 20 minutes I turn it on and its fine again for about 20 minutes then it starts all over again. It's very aggravating because I can only watch 20 minutes of tv at a time. I tried watching a movie last night and finally gave up. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem?

Have you tried covering the IR eye on the front of the TV when this starts occuring? Sometimes other devices in your home can emit infrared light that in rare cases can be picked up by your TV as a command from the remote. If covering the eye seems to stop the problem, I would say my guess is correct. If the problem continues even with the IR eye blocked I would say that the internal tuner of the TV might be defective. good luck!

It means that you haven't program there channels on your TV. Just about everybody use cable services, which in terms means that those people donut search for TV's channels, they usually have the TV set at HDMI1 or HDMI2. Press menu, under menu strength for channels, from death for new channels. Best time you use the control remote you'll be able to change the channel to other than 2. Good luck.
Fault with its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Do a reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.
Run through the set-up again and after it says channels found, at the top YOU MUST hit the SELECT on the screen in order for the set to log them into memory, otherwise there will be nothing. So high-light the select after it all done and your ready to go.

I bought my Insignia 32" LCD in November 2007 - same problem. I figured out that if you press the "input" button on your remote select any of the other options "component 1, composite 1, etc.. that you're TV isn't on -then press "input" again and go back to the component that you're TV plays on - you'll have volume when you go back every time. I've gotten so used to doing it now that it's become habit. 9 times out of 10 I have to do it.
