Question about Intuit QuickBooks Simple Start Edition (283063) for PC

Printing checks For some reason when I try to print a check now the name of the business, the banks name and the routing # does not appear on the check. All other information such as vendor and the amount does. Can not find where to go and enter this information. Just wondering if you might could help. Thank you, Sheila

Intuit programs are designed to print on pre-printed checks which already have that information on them, not to blank check stock.
In the past, the routing number, account number and such were printed with a magnetic ink. This allowed the banks processing computers to read the information correctly for faster routing.

Routing and account numbers do not print in QuickBooks. In order to print checks you need to have checks with the account information on them, using an Intuit/QuickBooks Format. You can get checks with this format from your bank or from office supply stores.

Money Counts program will not print checks


The issue appears to be with the configuration file in the money counts directory ( I think moneycounts.cfg) if you delete this file, money counts will recreate it on startup and you can select a printer for printing checks which will work. Should you change printer names or printers in the future, you may need to repeat this procedure.

Go to the Sort Tab and make sure you are sorting in date order. It should be the top selection on the sort tab

when you choose print there is a Mail Merge option that says "Don't print lines with empty fields" (company name, address line 2, etc.). check this box before sending to printer

if you have a backup file fof the year 2002 you can reload it and print them. but be sure to backup first the new files or the prsent files you have, after printing the reload again the the latest file you have backup

Printer not responding...


try to check your setting for the printer before printing. maybe you have paper jam try to check feed papers. press the power if this is blinking. If the problem persist just restart your computer. Sometimes thist problem needs restart to continue printing.

Printing problem


Would need more info-- what printer are you using (make, model) and what are you printing from (ie, what program)? The answer will vary depending on those things. The nest source of such info is likely the printer's mnfr's web site or software's on-line documentation.
