My Panasonic TH50PZ80 switches itself off with a faint blue screen. Sometimes it works through the night.... Intermittent.

Under warranty repair is due next Friday. I will report progress.

Sorry to everybody that assisted me with my problem but you all were wrong. I fixed the problem by vaccum the rear of the TV as there was a lot of dust. I no longer have the problem with my Panasonic turning off all the time also it was out of warranty.

    Thanks to all.

My problem reported on 15th November is to do with the tv set switching input to HDMI1 when the HDMI1 input (SKYbox) is switched off! Panasonic repair technician blames SKY box, I know SKY has no autoswitch facility, there appears to be no cure.... switching HDMI connection to HDMI2 helped but now I have a DVD player there, so when the unwanted switch occurs, I manually switch it back to where I want to watch!

Make sure the power supply cable is tightly plug-in, the one in the back of the TV. This fixed my problem.

How do you remove the stand from a panasonic TH-50PV30 50 inch type with 3 levvels of storage shelving. Thanks.

Never owned the this TV, but from what I can tell the outside edges on either side should have a series of screw holes. Even if you can't see the actual screws, there are philips head and there are in the bottom of those 4 or 6 holes. Take those out to get the TV off the stand.

Those may also be covers for a less complex connect to the spot where the additional speakers normal mount. Either way, remove still starts there.

Television keeps turning off then there are 5 flashes of the red LED light followed by 1 flash then this repeats itself continiously

5 Blinks on this set means loss of SOS 5V on the P-board AKA power supply board. Replacing it should resolve the problem.

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts.
In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Panasonic TH-50PV30

You can check the board where the components are mounted and resolder any that look bad. a brief power outages may cause the TV to turn off on its own. If you are using a surge protector, try connecting the set directly to the wall outlet. In your case it could caused by a blown fuse, a leaky diodes or a bad solder joint at the horizontal drive transformer. all can be replaced at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace If this does not correct the problem, you may need to have your TV serviced.

Panasonic Viera 42" TH-42PV30

Check the 2 main interconnection cables (24pin and 26pin) rear of PDP and Tuner box. Make sure they are firmly connected. (Loose connection of 24pin will cause no power on symptom.)
