Question about Toshiba Gigabeat MEG-F20S MP3 Player

1 Answer

Toshiba - Dosen't run properly. Sporatic useage

It Skips and keeps beeping and not stoping at songs. I think it just needs some service. Its from 2005 and I have not serviced it at all. Could it be the touch pads are dirty. Sometimes I can't change songs. Does the store work on these if I brought it in.

The songs are in the wrong format, most likely

Although beeping suually indicates a bad diode - player would need to be replaced b/c there are no repair servcies

Ipod skips songs

Sometimes when this happens you will need to reinstall that particular CD in order for the ipod to recognize it again. Also you need to keep a backup of all your files that are put on your ipod. If you don't have them backed up they can be cleaned off when the updates happen, especially when the computer does it automatically.

Songs and radio skips like a scratched cd

Your mp3 player works like a hard disk, make sure that it was not moving when you are listening to your music. If the problem is the same try to use a new headset/earphone on it. Loose connections on your headset/earphone makes you think that your mp3 player skips.

turn every program but itunes off. your firewall is interrupting your sync. close all programs or turn off your anti-virus and firewall so nothing can interrupt. keep me posted with results.

Skipping songs

This generally happens when the music is encoded at a low "bitrate", its called clipping. Only solution is to remove the songs from the device. Best of Luck.

Player won't play some songs - It states "No Authority" and won't play them

That generally means that the song was purchased online. Music purchased on line will sometimes not be allowed to transfer to mp3 players. That's to keep you from buying a song, putting it on your player and then transferring it to another computer. Part of the anti-piracy deal. If the songs that won't play were not purchased on line, then there may be deeper problems with your player and you may need to reformat the device.

Mneumonic skips over songs

MP3 players i have seen so far are only able to play WMA,Wav,MP3 files. Other files are skipped. Also, there arent many MP3 devices that can play DRM protected Files. Your might be it.
