Hi sir i am using Toshiba c650 laptop with dual operating system i have installed windows 2008 server and installed all the drivers but i am not able to install driver for wireless network, in device manager network controller is shown as unknown device pls help me how to get driver for this device

you could try here

go to support/downloads then search out your model and operating system
then scroll down to find the audio driver and download it then install it


or go to


www.realtek.com


go up to downloads and find the audio driver there but if you have a webcam the driver may not work the onboard mic if you have one installed i believe you will need a conexant modem driver for this

As Windows an operating system Toshiba Satellite C655 and C650 laptops and the USB port(s) are not working, run a DIAGNOSTIC TEST.
If the test will reveal that you have no problems with the USB divers, but your ports are not able to recognize the ports the problem may occure from the installed software. It happens that one ore more drivers to generate a "conflict" with that USB driver.Go to SYSTEM RESTORE and check the restore point of an earlier time. This is a SUCCESS AND FAILURE tests so keep rolling back in time until you will make it working.

This is how you need to select your model number and then select the operating system you have in your system.

Then you will get a list of drivers for your laptop.

I seriously doubt Server 2008 will work very well on a laptop. I am also surprised that the operating system found as many drivers as it did. I have Server 2008 on one of my servers, and the instructions say it will not work with wireless. I have mine plugged into a switch, which gets the LAN via a wireless. You might try something like that, try a CAT 5 cord.

Sorry but Windows server 2003 relies on XP drivers, your laptop only supports Vista so the drivers will not work.
You can however test Server 2008 which will take Vista drivers, download and test it here >>>>>>

You can access Vista disk management (right click on computer from the Start Menu > Manage > Storage > Disk Management) and shrink your current partition and create a new one. Then install XP on that new partition. This is if you want a dual boot of both XP and Vista.

you have to use a standard windows start up disk with cd rom support like win 98 works well so the computer will recognize a older version then insert it and boot the computer with the operating system that u want to install but be advised if you have a warranty on the machine you will void the waranty i found out the hard way i had xp on my toshiba laptop and i put windows me on it couple of months later i had a cd rom issue and sent it to the manufacture and found out that the waranty was voided because i put a different operating system on the machine

You cannot uninstall Windows Vista, but you can reinstall your previous operating system, which then replaces Windows Vista. To reinstall your old operating system, you must have the original installation disc. Back up your programs and files, insert the installation disc into your computer, and then reinstall the old operating system. To regain the hard disk space used by Windows Vista, reformat the disk during the reinstallation process. After reinstalling your previous operating system, reinstall your programs and files.
