This morning I turned on my TV to find that the left half of the image is green. This appears regardless of which input component I select. I've disconnected and reconnected cables as I was told to do, but it's still there. What could be causing this problem?

It sounds like your LCD panel or your T-con board is bad . Panels are expensive so I would replace the T-con board first. You have to open the TV and get the part number from the actual board in order to find the correct one. You can find parts at www.interliquidparts.com
If this is for a universal remote, the different manufactures assign their own user code to set up their universal remote. They internaly convert to the proper protocol for the TV based on an internal software table.
