Dell bluetooth keyboard/mouse bundle

I have a user whose Dell keyboard stopped functioning. I updated drivers for the bundle and on reboot was unable to log in. I logged in remotely and removed the hardware, rebooted, plugged a standard usb keyboard in and rebooted again to be able to get back in. Bluetooth devices eventually are detected and start working but stop working whenever the system goes into standby. I have left him with a standard keyboard attached as a temporary solution until I find an honest-to-god fix. shows bluetooth device undetected. The mouse works fine, keyboard doesn't, "My bluetooth places" reports no bluetooth device installed. I've gone through all the upgrades/troubleshooting I can find and it still isn't functioning correctly. His power settings are the same as mine....I have the same keyboard and mouse and both work fine. (only the monitor shuts off after 20-30 minutes). Suggestions anyone?

Exactly the same issue here except the mouse stops functioning after coming out of standby mode too. I swapped out my wireless adaptor, keyboard, and mouse for his as we have the same computers and he had the same result. And his wireless works fine on my computer - including coming out of standby or hibernation modes. So I know it's not the adaptor, mouse or keyboard.

    What setting am I missing?

Same problem Dell Bluetooth Mouse required no passkey and works fine. Keyboard required a passkey and everytime my computer reboots it doesnt find a keyboard then asks me to press F1 Or F2 to continue so I need to plug a wired keyboard in to boot up is there a fix ??????

I've got Vista, and intermittently my keyboard and mouse stop working, and the computer makes a bib-bib noise it does on connecting new hardware, then it doesn't work, then it does. It might do this once every four hours, but on some days it's like ten every hour. i cannot explain why it is doing its job so intermittently. I'm surprised I got to the end of this sentence without messing me around.

Hi, two points of failure that I can see on your issue. First could be the BT software, 2nd could be the BT card which is a hardware issue. My first suggestion is to go to Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs, look for and application named SetPoint then remove it. Most likely you're probably using a DELL computer, if so go to go to Drivers and Downloads choose your correct Computer model maybe laptop or pc; then choose your correct Operating system and platform if its 32 bit or 64 bit. Next update your Chipset driver, System Utilities - Notebook System for laptops and Dell System software for pc, then update your Input device driver - Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard and mouse Bundle, then update your Quickset under Applications and Synaptics driver under Input device drivers if it's a laptop you have, after doing everything restart your pc. If all is done correctly and still won't work work contact the manufacturer to replace your Bluetooth card since it's already a hardware failure. Thanks and have a nice day! =)

My bluetooth connection for my wireless mouse and my wireless keyboard stopped working. What Can I do about that?

Have you checked the following:

1. Are the batteries OK (NEW)?
2. Have you restarted your computer?
3. Is the Bluetooth (in your computer - i.e., came with it) or are you using an add on bluetooth?
  • If it is an added bluetooth, have you tried, swapping the USB port that it is plugged into and then restarting your computer.
Let me know how you get on. Please rate. Regards,

Dell wireless mouse and keyboard-no instructions

Most Bluetooth keyboards and mice are just Plug-n-Play and does not require any driver installation. You need to isolate the problem, please follow the steps below:

1. Make sure that the wireless adapter of your wireless KB and mouse is properly connected to the USB port of the computer.

2. Make sure that the USB ports of your computer are working.

3. Use fresh batteries for the KB and mouse.

4. After connecting the wireless dongle to the computer, turn on your KB and mouse (there should be an ON/OFF switch underneath).

5. Briefly press the connect button on the wireless dongle and then hold down the connect button underneath the mouse for five seconds and then release it.

6. Do the same steps for the KB.

Have a good day!
