* might your pc is in Hibernate or Sleep mode

A power management mode that conserves power by powering down the system. In hibernate mode the current state of the system is saved to the hard drive, and the system will power down. When a user turns the system power back on, the saved information is read from the hard disk, restoring the last used settings. Hibernate mode is similar to sleep mode, however in sleep mode the power cannot be shut off.

go to control panel > power management and change or default the settings you wish.

Unplug the usb receiver as well as all other usb devices plugged in. Unplug your desktop from the power outlet. While unplugged, press and hold the power button for around 10 seconds to drain the power. Plug the power back but not the usb devices. See if it now boots up.

At first Ithought it was my monitor, so I went and bought a new monitor. Hooked up the new monitor and monitor is still blank. It turns on Windows XP and then a little box comes up "sleep mode"...

Have your tried booting into "Safe Mode" ? minimal video drivers are used, allowing you to go in to
  • Control Panel
  • System
  • Hardware
  • Device Manager
  • Display Adapter , Uninstall your old driver
  • Reboot , this allows yours system to clear the registry
  • Re-install video drivers for new card

I have an asrock 880g extreme 3 the doctoor debug is coming up 85 on the led displY, THE MONITOR IS IN SLEEP MODE AND IT WONT BOOT UP

Nvidia Graphics cards can trigger this problem, can you try swapping the graphics card and rebooting to safe mode to load the vanilla drivers (F8). If that works, could be issues with the card.
You might want to reset your CMOS to default as another test, to eliminate any issues there.
Finally, If you can get it to reboot using the OLD (original card) after resetting the CMOS, try running it with the standard drivers first, it that works, then it could be a driver issue

First, you should try the monitor on another PC to see if it works.
Then if there is still a signal error, try opening your PC case, blowing out any dust you find with compressed air, then re-seat your ram and video card. If you have on-board video, try removing the cmos (Bios) Battery or if you can find it, jump the bios reset jumper, then restart.

If none of those solutions work for you, try installing a slot based video card in either your, PCI, AGP or PCI Expess slot to see if your onboard video has simply failed.
