It's dead The radio was working fine - I removed the faceplate while parking in a parking garage (for safety), I left it off for about two days. Once it placed it back in place - I get nothing, it is as if I lost power. Fuses - good, 12V at the back of the radio and 5V at various pins wher the face plate connects ?????

Make sure all your wires from the radio to the car are connected and check both the fuse on the radio and the one in the car. Is there anything else in the car that turned off?

if your going to change a battery, fuse or there will be a loss and then gain off voltage, turn everything off in the car and take the radio face plate off

Hi, I've got a similar problem. My CQ-C1300W suddenly lost power. I've checked all the wires and the fuse and all seems ok. But the faceplate remains dead. I'm at a loss.

I need the security code of my car radio I removed the battery now it need a code which I don't know Kenwood PDX500M serial number 31104056 please.

For this fix you need to reconnect your battery.
1) Turn on the car.
2) The faceplate rotates out and the CODE - - - - prompt appears.
3) Press >>' and Auto keys simultaneously on the faceplate and hold for 4 seconds. (If the faceplate rotates back into the console push on the upper left top edge of the faceplate and it will flip back around. Press the Eject button and then try it again.)
4) The screen will still say CODE, but the - - - - will disappear! When this happens press the 5 key on the remote twice and it enters a K on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
5) Press the 2 key on the remote three times and it enters a C on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
6) Press the 2 key on the remote once and it enters an A on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
7) Press the 7 key on the remote twice and it enters an R on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
8) The radio goes into All Off mode and you are set! Hit the SRC button on the faceplate to select CD, Radio, etc

In order to get the radio out on a 2004 suburban, does the dash have to come apart or will the faceplate come off?

Put the parking brake on and shift transmission(so you can have the clearance to re move the bezel) into 1st gear and pull the bezel around the radio and gauge cluster. It should unsnap and remove it. The factory radio should now easily be removed by taking out the three screws(2 on left and 1 on right).

Kenwood KDC-519 Faceplate Problem

Detach the faceplate and look at the electrical contacts on the back of it for damage/dirt - you can spray it with electrical contact cleaner. Do the same to the contacts on the head unit - it sounds to me like one or more of them are a bit loose or otherwise not working properly.

The radio plays the CD but the faceplate is dead

Maybe the radio need to be reset. Try disconnecting the battery cable for 5 to ten minutes. If that does not work, the radio will need to be serviced or replaced. Good Luck
