Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8100
Last night my pearl kept lagging and then the next time i looked at it, it had started turning on and off to a blank screen. I took the battery out and put it back in but it had no effect on my problem. it says to reset and i have pressed the reset multiple times, however, it only restarts to the same screen

IF ITS A PERSONAL PHONE CALL YOUR PHONE SERVICE PROVIDER ask if there is any special version of software you have to use.
try a hard reset (take the battery out wait 2 mins then put it back in) if that doesnt work...
BEFORE ANYTHING !!!! use the desktop software to backup your data (because you will be erasing ALL DATE on the device) on the BB (if you can) and save the file to the desktop. next go to https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=577BCC914F9E55D5E4E4F82F9F00E7D4you need to download (use pull down menu)blackberry desktop software 4.6 and the blackberry devicesoftware (FOR YOUR MODEL PHONE) install the desktop software first thenthe device software.. this can take maybe an hour (not including thedownload time) once your done use your desktop software to restore yourdata
