It's Genius, unfortunately while It is attacking the source of the recording ability of the drive I am not that experinced with the registry, so when you say loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'), I am lost. I need to know how to do that step by step.

try this:
Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. Registry Editor starts.
Step 2: Delete the UpperFilters registry entry loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'); 1. In Registry Editor, expand My Computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. 2. Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet. 3. Expand Control, and then expand Class. 4. Under Class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. 5. In the right pane (topic area), click UpperFilters.

Note An UpperFilters.bak registry entry may also appear. To delete the UpperFilters registry entry, you must click UpperFilters and not UpperFilters.bak. 6. On the Edit menu, click Delete. 7. When you receive the following message, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry: Are you sure you want to delete this value?The UpperFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey.

Note Do not exit Registry Editor. You must have this program for the next step.
Step 3: Delete the LowerFilters registry entry loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'); 1. 5. In the right pane (topic area), click LowerFilters.

Note An LowerFilters.bak registry entry may also appear. To delete the LowerFilters registry entry, you must click LowerFilters and not LowerFilters.bak. 6. On the Edit menu, click Delete. 7. When you receive the following message, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the LowerFilters registry entry: Are you sure you want to delete this value?The LowerFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey. 8. Exit Registry Editor.
Step 4: Restart the computer loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution');

Hmm ok to translate what that guy said here is the potential solution (testing it out now)

Click Start, Run and type 'regedit'.

In Registry Editor expand to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class

Find and Select {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Optionally just search for the first part of that ({4D36E965-***}

Find and delete both registry keys UpperFilters and LowerFilters.

Exit registry Editor and restart your PC.
Reinstall iTunes so it can reinstall the required registry keys again.
Then try to burn again.

If this does not work the usual other solution is to uninstall and reinstall iTunes again.

I have the same problem on the Acer Extensa 7620 / TSS corp CD DVD W TS-L632H drive. Vista. regedit shows only the UpperFilters key present. Removing this causes iTunes (plus CD burner (NTI) to drop driver and drive shown in Control Panel as unabel to load due to reg. key failure. So after this no CD support on PC making re-install tough. As usual : Do not attempt to perform this (any) fix unless have proper back up / backout point established.

NTI works ok. Can iTurns-burn to RW-cd (and the copy using NTI to CD-R).
Cumbersom but possible.

Have support request # 177-172056 in with Acer.
