I have a canon ip6700d (using windows 7 64bit). I have had this printer about 3 years. Used it fine 2 days ago and today it will not print but gives USB error 43 and gives messages saying " usb device not recognized" Have tried new cable. Have tried uninstalling the usb drivers and have tried reinstalling the printer drivers . Also tried to use the printer on my laptop running XP (which has always worked) with no success. Any Ideas ? This printer is 2 1/2 years old. Is there a way to update or reboot the printer firmware ? [email protected]

There can be some situations when the printer installer will not work on the computer. Sometimes there is a fault in the CD or sometimes there is a fault within the program. In any case, the printer can still be installed on the computer using the Add Printer Wizard feature of Windows. The wizard lets you choose the port where the printer will be connected as well as other settings of the printer. or get more help from here . Hope this helps you.

Working on a canon Pixma Ip6700d printer. When I plug in the printer the alarm light stays on? The absorber kit was just replace the other day.

Hey Brian, I know it's been awhile, but were you ever able to get this printer working? I have one that I bought off of CL and am experiencing the same issue. This particular printer definitely hasn't been used enough to require new parts, and of course it's not actually giving me an error message anyway, only the yellow light comes on. I'd love to find a fix if it's possible.

Code 6A00 is comming up whenever I try to print. kindly advise me how to solve

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!

The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam. Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.As a Canon technology,I usually find the code almost 90% of the time it is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move.Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods etc.
I have found all those things in a purge unit. The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.A
Canon PIXMA iP6700D InkJet Photo Printer would still be under Canon warranty, get it into a shop and save yourself the hassel.
Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model & its always a paper path error or purge unit
I forget myself so here goes, the purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP,lexmark & other ink jet printers,is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is why you 'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has a an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow

How do I reset the left margn on my canon ip6700D printer

Margins are set in printing preferences in the window that pops up after you press print. If prints like the nozzle check are off center you need to clean the encoder strip.

Cartridges replaced,not printing colors

Are you using compatible cartridges? If so have you used them before?

Make sure that you run a cleaning cycle in the printer and then print out a test sheet to see if there any issues. You may have to run the cleaning proces 2 or 3 times to get it working properly.
