Does not detect raid controller

You may need raid controller driver for HP proliant ml 350. Copy raid controller driver in flopy disc, insert it in flopy drive, insert cd in cd driver, boot server from cd and start installation process, as soon as you see Press F6 if you need to install third party scsi drivers or raid controller, press F6 and follow the instruction. It will then ask you to select RAID driver file and then will continue to windows xp installation.

you should not update the bios...the issue is the hard disk is on sata ...and you need a raid driver installed to detect the hdd...so ...either get into BIOS and under advanced features..look the place where the drives are detected..and select the hdd and look for a feature called AHCI ..and disable it ..and leave sata like ide..and save with f10 and restart ...after that the hdd will be seen ..
another way is to make a floppy disk with the raid driver on it (the one from the mothermoard drivers disk ) ..and when it ask you to press f6 for 3rd party software ...press it ..and insert the floppy ...it will pick up the raid driver and will go like a charm ..
if you do not have a floppy ..install a second cd drive ..and use a cd ..and after pressing f6 for 3rd party ..browse and point to the raid driver on the mobo driver cd ..

Asus A8V-VM Motherboard coming with SATA RAID option, thats why you could not see the detected HDD in system BIOS. But you can see the the detected HDD in RAID BIOS. You can enter to RAID BIOS that will pop up after system BIOS. If you are using old version of WinXP it will not detect the RAID controller of you motherboard. Thats why you cannot able to install WinXP. While you booting from WinXP CD press F6 key when the WinXP installer prompted for third party driver. Copy the RAID driver provider in driver CD to a Floppy Disk (INF file) and insert it, hit enter to continue the installation. If you are using WinXP Service pack 2 or higher you do not need this step it will automatically detect the HDD.

first you need to prepare the scsi drives ie host raid adapter scsi drivers are server raid cotroller 6 scsi drivers by using the serevr raid support cd dikettitools proper os drivers to floppy and boot with widows cd at the time starting boot press f6 to specify the scsi drivers then all scsi hdd will detect for installatio.

Copy RAID driver to mini diskette.

The moment you see the blue setup screen press F6
After the setup runs for a little while it will ask you if you have any additional drivers you need to install
Then insert your mini diskette with the RAID driver and respond to prompts to load it.
Windows should no recognize the RAID controller and let you complete the installation.

You are almost there. Go into your BIOS and enable RAID. Then your raid bios should show up on next boot.

Are you attempting to boot from the Windows CD?

If you are booting the server from a Windows installation disk and it is unable to detect the hard drive, this typically means the following things.
You need to provide the driver for the RAID controller of the server (this can vary, depending on the version of the ML370 e.g. G4/G5)
If it still cannot detect the hard drive after providing the driver for the RAID controller or if there is not a driver available for NT4, it may not support the controller.
In this case you can remove the RAID set by entering the RAID setup (could be LSI or adaptec). NOTE THIS WILL DESTROY ALL DATA ON THE DISKS THAT ARE A PART OF THIS RAID SET.

This problem is very simple.... Using RAID in booting in cd/dvd cannot be done in this kind of processing. you have to change the setting of Hard Disk and CD/DVD to IDE in BIOS . To change the setting in the BIOS you need to press the Delete After you power on the computer.. In Main menu in the bios you will find the hard disk or cd/dvd settings to IDE, SATA, and RAID. change both hard disk and cd/dvd to IDE configuration. make sure the first boot in the Boot menu is the cd/dvd, where your windows cd installer is inserted. Save the settings by pressing F10 key in the keyboard.. I have the same problem as of you because i try it to change SATA, RAID but cannot boot to cd and cannot detect the hard disk when installing OS, but in IDE settings its okay.. and it works perfect.. after you installed the windows properly, you can change the Hard Disk or cd/dvd configuration to SATA or RAID. Check your BIOS. There's a setting there to change the Drive controller which allows the SATA drive to be recognized. I believe when I did it I had to change the RAID setting (even though I wasn't using RAID).
