- Faxes with access codes or calling cards Think of the fax machine as a large telephone. Numbers can be dialed from the front panel exactly the way they are on a telephone.- Place the document in the feeder or on the glass (flatbed fax.)
- Press the START FAX or START button. You should hear a dial tone.
- Dial the phone number on the keypad using your long distance code, billing code, or card numbers just as if the fax were a telephone. Pause as needed for connections.
- The receiving fax should ring and answer.
