My dell vostro 1320´s battery is lasting less than 30minutes without the charger. what to do?

The Laptop charger or the charging point itself is bad or damaged. You'll need to try different charger to take your laptop to any nearest computer repair shop to have charging point repaired or replaced.

How old is your laptop? if it is over 5-6 months it could be because of a faulty battery. You may want to upgrade or change your battery.

I doubt there is battery problem, have you tried switching on laptop without battery and connecting through the laptop charger? most probable your battery is not taking the charge. so suggest you to disconnect the battery and try using laptop with charger then you'll find the problem.

The charger is defective, not putting out enough voltage to operate unit or charge the battery, unit needs replace, check with best buy.

Sounds like a short on the motherboard. Usually a capacitor has blown to protect the motherboard from high voltages. I'm sure you could get that motherboard repaired if you go to the right place.

Hi, Sounds like the charging circuilty is starting to fail,

Check the connection from the power lead to the DC input , is it tight ?or is there a lot of play ? if so bad connection ?

if it still under warranty, get it looked at before it stops charging completey.

Lastly , is it possible to try another charger ? make sure it the correct voltage and amps. The charger could be going down.

You have either a faulty/worn out battery or a faulty charging circuit.
Recharageable battery have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and over the years the battery life gets shorter and shorter until it is worn out and won't charge any more.
If the battery is more than 2 years old then the battery is most likely worn out and needs to be replaced.

Try to turn on the system with the charger plugged in and also how old is the system.if the system less than a year then try to get the battery changed and may be the motherboard.
