The pdf file is copy protected so I can not copy and paste the speed control page. You will have to download the manual. Rt click, save as.....

The speed control guide is on the printed page 15 (green page number bottom of the page)
The guide states you also can select speeds 3, 5, 7, and 9 by moving the selector in between 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10

Hi JBKRIEGER, Happy New Year! Yes you can download both your Owners Instruction Manual and Parts List Manual from the KA website at: (http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home).
Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> and enter the 6 character model number and then select the appropriate files under Owners Manual for your Instruction and Recipe manual and the file under Parts List for your parts list manual.
The Parts List manual provides an exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer, along with all the part names and numbers. (Definitely check to see it this matches your mixer). You may not need it now, but if your mixer is out of warranty and you want to attempt to troubleshoot and fix your mixer yourself if something goes wrong with your mixer, you’ll definitely need that parts list manual.

Hi. Goto kitchenaid.com. Click on the Customer Care button, click on find manuals, in the search window, enter k45sswh. this page will show the operating manual and farther down the page the parts manual. Download both these files.

Go to mendingshed.com and locate their FREE kitchenaid service manual and download it. This manual will greatly assist you or a repair person should your mixer ever need repair.

A word of caution...Do not overload the mixer with too much bread or cookie dough or it will cause damage to the transmission. Use the recommended capacities found in the manual.

Hi all. Goto mendingshed.com and download the free kitchenaid repair manual for free. These older mixers were well built, unlike the new ones. They are well worth repairing. The repair manual is very comprehensive and will assist you greatly should your mixers need repair at a later date. Good luck!
