The loud pop was a faulty capacitor(s) arcing when threshold voltage is applied too it. You need to repair or replace the power supply board send me the make and model# of the TV and I will point you in the right direction to obtain another board. Or send the board too my ahop and I will repair it for you. If this helps please rate....thank you:-)

Sharp LC37GD8E keeps switching off after being turned on

Does just the power light come on? Do you get no picture and no sound? Does it shut off after 5 to 10 seconds or so? If you answered yes to all of these questions then you own one of the TV's that has an inherent engineering problem with the internal power supply. If you owned it for less than 90 days, take it back to the store and get a different brand of TV. After 90 days up to 1 year, it would be covered by a warranty. After 1 year, you are responsible for the repairs. If the TV costs 300.00 or less, it would be better to buy a different brand of TV. Getting that kind of problem fixed would result in the same problem happening again, due to the design flaw that exists in the power supply.

Has a muffled sound

How are you using the mic ie how far, through what type of equipment etc.. Shure make and have made great mics for years with the 58 and 57 dynamic models[very common used live and in the studio] being able to produce good clear vocal and guitar, sax etc recordings.. If you are using one of these or similar dynamic mics, then because they are not' too sensitive' ie pick up room sound/character you ought to get clear usable results from a few cm ..{a pop shield can help one move closer without pops[ppwwwooow type sound from breath].. But the pre amp level has to be set right so the sound is not to quiet but not overloading etc..{ i don't know what you have or why,so am suggesting basics} If there is a simple 2 or 3 knob eq on a mixer/amp or software, then add s little treble and less bass... If you have a good functioning set up and feel the sound lacks a certain amount of detail and you have tried all the above ,perhaps you need to consider trying out different types of mics..Large diaphram condensers perhaps..?? How about one with built in pre amp and USB input so that you can plug direct into the computer with minimum fuss ,if thats what you are using..[Rode and SE electronics make great USB mics at fair prices..] The pre amp that amplifies the signal is an important part of the chain if not using USB models ,but even a small mackie mixer with its pre amps built inwill turn out good results with some effort and experimentation.. ..Good luck..

Hi,
Strong JPEG compression typically produces more JPEG artifacts and destroys image elements including noise; weaker compression preserves more image elements including noise created by the image sensor. It is preferable to use the lowest amount of compression possible for the best results.

The TV shut off, made a popping sound. The

Power board short and bad capacitor blown, capacitors usually pop because of shorted or open rectifiers and linear devices that warp inside. This happens due to excessive heat exposure from the current draw. Bad diodes and FET's are usually the root cause as to why capacitors bulge then eventually pop. This means the the x-y sustain boards are not getting their supply voltage resulting a no picture....

The red light flashes an error code for a technician to read, the tv is in protection mode to prevent further damage. Get it serviced at your local repair center or take it back if its under warranty.....

If it is less than a year old than it is still under Warranty from LG. Their Customer Service Number is 1800-243-000. It sounds like to me it needs a Main Board to be replaced. Let LG help you get in touch with a Factory Service Facility to get you back up running again.
I hope this helps,

A three loud consecutive popping sounds at various

You probably have a bad compressor. It's internal parts are held up with 4 springs and one of them has probably broken and causes the compressor piston to hit the side of the comp. housing. This will happen when the ref. shuts off. To be sure, if you turn the ref off at the controls then you should hear the noise in the back. If it is less than 5 years old you can get it replaced under warranty. if more than 5 years old it will just be noisy. it will most likely last several more years like it is. Let me know if I'm right.

Large puffs of white smoke coming from the tail pipe. resulted in no 1 casket being badly bent, now needs a new engine, how could this happen to an engine such as this. year 2000 had only done 42,000ks...

Sounds like the engine overheated, and blew the head gasket. With the modern aluminum blocks & heads, loss of cooling power spells death for the engine....all in less than 10 minutes. (*Had it happen to a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am, with a newly rebuilt engine, less that 2000 miles on it.*)
