Fan is making noise like a bushing is rubbing

The nosie you're heraing is caused by one or more of the fan blade irons being loose, where they attach to the fan motor. Turn the fan OFF and once it's stopped spinning, check and tighten, as necessary, each loose, fan blade iron, screw. Use a Phillips head screw driver for this.

Hope this helps you solve the mystery of the whooshing noise. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Steam iron dose not function well the water leaks out while ironing on steam setting

The problem you're having is often cased by a calcium and mineral build up, due to the tap water you're using. To solve the problem, if it's not to late. Do the following:

Empty any water remaining in the iron. Mix a 50/50 solution of White Distilled Vinegar and Bottled Distilled Water (enough to fill the iron's water tater holder).

Pour the solution into the tank, plug the iron in and turn it to steam. Once it starts to steam, turn the iron OFF, unplug it and allow it sit face down on a flat surface, covered by a towel. Allow it to soak over night. In the morning, empty the prepared solution and refill with just the Bottled Distilled Water. Plug the iron in and turn it to steam. Allow it to steam for 30 minutes. This will flush any of the solution's residue from the iron. Any remaining water should be emptied from the iron.

In the future, I would recommend using Bottled Distilled Water, instead of tap water.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

I bought two Beacon Hill Hunter ceiling fans recently. I bought them because of the promise of "whisper quiet." To my great disappointment the motors are loud. I have one on in another room...

It may not be the motors making the noise, but the blade irons that are attached to the motor are loose and are rubbing the housing.

To confirm this, turn the fans OFF. When the blades stop turning, use a step ladder to reach the fan blades and the blade irons. Using a Phillips head screw driver, attempt to tighten each blade iron screw (2 in each iron), that screws into the fan motor spindle. I suspect, you'll find one or more loose. Especially if, the lock washer wasn't installed on each screw.

Hope this helps you solve the problem. If it doesn't, contact Hunter per the instructions in your Owners Manual. As there is a slim chance that there is a manufacturer's defect involved.

Fan makes a rubbing sound

Most of the time, that noise is caused by a loose fan blade iron (what holds the fan blade to the revolving part of the fan motor housing. Turn The fan OFF and check all the screws (using a screwdriver) that hold the irons to the fan. You'll probably feel one iron wobble. If you do, that's at least one of the ones that's loose.

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

I have steam heat when i turn my heat on i get black dust all over my homeon child toys

Steam heat-- I can appreciate that-- I have done Maintenance work on Steam systems for years-
Most of my systems have big cast iron radiators, and a valve on one end, and a steam trap on the other end of the radiator.
The radiator has to be painted with a silver paint-- or it will rust easily--

Tell me about your radiator, and is there rust?
Is there any leakage at the radiator valve-- like at the stem packing?
Sometimes the water that leaks out of the packing can be black-- (It is iron oxide, too..)

Do any of these comments help your trouble shooting?

Tell me more, so I might be able to help you further.

Hello, I have a Sanyo Steam Iron.Model No. A-L201,its light n indicaters r proper ,but its plate is not heating, please help me to solve this problem.

this sounds like an element, burned wire, or safety fuse is out. may be cheaper to replace than fix. is this iron under $50 new?
since you say it light is on; its not power to the iron but inside the iron.

Fan in our Sharp "Comfort Touch thru-wall a/c stopped

Unless the Unit can be cleaned ( you claim it cools?) but not enough. The age of the Unit is not in you Question, the amount of time you got for 100 bucks is pretty good being you purchased a USED UNIT. With the type of use you claim Running 24/7 and about 5 months of cooling - I'd say you never cleaned the Unit from day one - that might cost you about 100 bucks if the unit can be done in the yard by a serviceman. Chemicals can hurt the Unit if not done properly ( and yourself). It sounds to me like you use it for a Business - if so you can purchase one and write it off .
