Replace the dvd drive. they're about $35 from pc direct.com or you can find one on ebay. open the console and remove the dvd drive, buy the exact same one. you can avoid having to flash the drive by taking apart the old drive and removing the com board inside and putting it in the new one.The com board(communiaction board) has a special key inside that makes the dvd drive communicate with the mother board. This is required for the drive to play games. If you are not experienced and attempt to flash the drive yourself, which requires you to take the side panel off of your desk top computer and hook up a sata cable to a chipset, download software to flash it and is an all around hassle you can brick your console. Swapping the com board is the fastest, cheapest, and by far the easiest way to fix this. I have done this to one of my 360s last week and would not tell you to do something that would harm your console. I've also fixed the e74/RROD error has well. There is a link on how to open the xbox and fix the dvd drive. Thanks and please vote
