I was attempting to perform a system restore. I accidently powered off my laptop and now it continously restarts and shuts down in a continous loop. I am using Windows 8 and have a Aspire E1 522-5603...

take the battery out after that then press the power button for 5 secs. and then wait like 10 secs. then put your battery back in and restart see if it still loops it should fix it.

Acer aspire 7741z boot loop

You can try to boot the computer in safe mode. Then restore the computer to a previous date when it was working fine. This should resolve your issue
To boot the computer in safe mode do the following:
As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8.

On the Advance boot option, Use the arrow keys to highlight the appropriate safe mode option, and then press ENTER.

1. Open the Start Menu, type rstrui.exe in the search box, and press Enter.

2. Open the Start Menu.
A) Click on All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and System Restore

> Click on the Next button. (see screenshot below)
> Select (click on) a listed restore point that you want to restore the drives that were included in the restore point back to how they were when the restore point was created

For any further assistance feel free to revert

I set my laptop to the factory settings, and now it's reading a windows error messae saying the windows insallation is incomplete and to restart to finish installing but when I reset it, it just keep...

It sounds like the installation is looping due to a problem at the end of the installation. I would advise you run a complete restore from scratch again and make sure power is always connected to the Notebook throughout.

Howdo you restore to factory settings e-machines laptop

It is important to know the difference between aSYSTEM RESTORE or SYSTEM RECOVERY . Restoring your system to a previous date when the computer worked fine may do the trick and to do this click start, click help and support and under Pick a Task, click Undo changes to your computer with System Restore, Follow the instructions on the wizard.

A more radical remedy may be required when your hard drive will not boot up, or when you can't get the computer to navigate through the windows you need for a restore point reset. This radical resetting of the computer is called a system recovery (not a system restore) This will put your computer back to factory settings but you will lose any files you had like pictures, music and word documents.
If the operating system becomes corrupt, or if the computer is hit with a virus, the best solution is often to restore the computer and reload your applications.

This is not the exact model, my friend has a satellite L450d-11V laptop, the screen does not display anything, the power is plugged in the left light at the front is green the one to the left is orange....

  • Hi, this is "normal looping when choosing to restore to "Factory Settings," you have to be very patient, and unfortunately, if the process wasn't completed entirely, you may need to start from scatch; "lets hope this is not the case, restart the computer, and let it do what its suppose to do "finish the restoring to "factory settings, be patient," and follow all the instructions carefully. "Rating the solution is appreciated, thanks; I hope all go well!"

I need more information about the condition as we may not have to totally delete and reinstall software. Have you tried to safe boot and then do a restore under accessories-system-tools-restore?

What have you installed lately?

Problem running the restore disk for Toshiba A85-S107

I have the same model and i just reformatted the hard drive with the original restore disk and it does loop around several times. That is the way it is suppose to do on this particular restore disk. So don't be afraid if it goes around several times because it is doing different tasks each time it loops.
