Did you check the sleep mode or power off mode? What do you do to make it come back on? Sounds like it might be getting too hot and/or going bad. Not sure how to diagnose this without seeing it myself. That is the best that I can do. Your video card could be going bad. Try another video card on that monitor. This will be the only way to decide if it is the card or monitor. Try it on another machine or with a different cable if the cable can be taken off and see what it does.

I can't fix this for you, but if I helped you get it fixed, please rate it as a fixya not a helpful rating. These ratings let me be allowed to help you and others in the future. If you need more help, feel free to keep asking, but keep the original information so I can see it.

You can try the monitor on another computer to verify it is the monitor and not the display card at fault.

I'm assuming this is an LCD monitor. If you are sure the monitor is the problem, then your monitor's display driver circuit is probably getting close to failing. When one of the three colors (red, green, blue) becomes intermittent, the screen takes on the hue of the working colors. In your case it sounds like the blue is starting to fail.

A repair technician may be able to replace the circuit.

This problem could be that your Power Options in the Control Panel have been switched to "switch off the component ever now and then to save power". To change this, do the following:

1) Navigate to the Control Panel by clicking Start and then Control Panel. Then double click on Power Options as shown below circled in red.
slasher_x_14.jpg
2) This will then display the Power Options window as shown below.
slasher_x_16.jpg
3) Once you have opened the Power Option Properties, under Power Schemes select the one that best suits your PC system.
slasher_x_15.jpg
4) Then you can select whether or not to switch off your monitor and/or hard drives after a period of time when it is not being used.

If you have your PC on most of the time then I suggest you select Never as the turn off option for both your hard drive and monitor. If you are using a laptop the turning off the hard drive and screen can however save on battery power when the laptop is not in use.

If your problem persists then it might just be as simple as a loose connection, make sure all hard drive connectors are firmly inserted and that your monitor display plug is correctly plugged into your display card or onboard display correctly.

If your hard drive persists with this problem then it may be a faulty dive. I suggest you take the drive to a PC technician and have them check if it's faulty or malfunctioning.

Wondering if you resolved it and how I was having the same issue have taken my screen apart and it is not the button pressing seems to be a deeper routed issue. I have tried driver re-install, change of start up and various other items none are resolving it. I think it maybe a issue directly related to the manufactoring of the E181H Monitor.

I have an E-machine. I lost all red in my computer. I tried to restore it and it worked for a couple of minutes and then went back to having no red. What can this be and how do I fix it?

Several possibilities:

1. the video-cable between your computer and your monitor is loose (at one end) -- tighten it;

2. the video-cable is "kinked" and is not transmitting end-to-end -- replace it;

3. the video-adapter in your computer is failing to output 1 of the 3 "primary" colours -- buy a new video-adapter, and install it;

4. your computer monitor is faulty -- try connecting the monitor to a laptop computer, to see if it works correctly; if you still have the problem, you need to repair/replace your monitor.

U need to check that the power supply and power switch is working.
If everything is working properly, suspect no video output send to monitor resulting the monitor is in sleep mode. U can try switch to integrated display of clear CMOS.

When my PC loads into Windows, i get a huge discolouration on my monitor. If i reduce green down to 0, i have a red tint to my display. Whats causing the discolouration and how can i fix it?

Try downloading and reloading the video drivers for your PC.
It could be that they corrupted.

#2 If you plug a different monitor into the PC, does it do the same thing?
If yes it does the same, it's a problem with the video card.
Try the drivers, or you may need to replace the video card.
If no a different monitor doesn't have the problem, it's a problem with your original monitor, and you'll need to replace the monitor.

Monitor Problems

1. check the monitor on other PC if the problem is same that means the VGA cord or the Pins have gone faulty.

2. Just bend and cable and keep monitoring the display where it stablises to normal, and tie thw cacle at that point with something.
