PICTURES ARE OUT OF FOCUS

-   Great pics on close objects, but can't get a clear focus anymore on group shots. Same trouble on both my XT and XTi. It took my XT 2 years before the problem started, but my XTi started almost right away. Canon rep said it was the lens or to quote "I needed to upgrade as the original lens is not meant for high quality photos", bought the "good" lens, still the same problem!! -   chevyvr22

-   We started having focus problems on our EOS Digital Rebel XT after about a year (1 out of 10 are out of focus). Now, after 3 years, it seems like 7 out of 10 pictures are out of focus. It happens primarily in low light conditions, but does occur sometimes in low light. Any suggestions, or do we need a new lens...? -   FritzyFritz

-   My PowerShot focusing problems started off intermittently.  It would focus fine on some pics but others I would have to take a second shot for a clear pic. I had this problem for about a month until not all my shots are just a little out of focus except for close ups that will not focus.  I have read my users guide and shut off the AiAf, AF, digital zoom, and reset all the factory defaults with no positive results.  I had a conversation with a canon salesperson and he eluded to it being a problem with the lens(which can be fixed for a reasonable amount of money) or it could be another problem which I don't recall except that if it was the second one, the cost would be about the same as a new camera. Faith
