Try running updates, re-install safari. You could try deleting cookies and clearing cache.
maybe try a different browser altogether i.e. firefox, opera etc

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to uninstall genieo from a mac

In finder go to Utilities, then Activity Monitor, then when you see Genieo select it, then select the RED quit button. It will ask you if you "really want to quit Genieo" then simply quit.

Then quit Activity Monitor.

After that, go into your Application folder and drag Genieo to the trash. Then empty trash.

If you are using Safari and it opens to the Genieo page, in the Safari drop down, select preferences, General Tab.

You can then see what is set as your Safari home page. If that page shows Genieo then change it. You may have to go within Safari to what page you want as a home first in order to make it your current page, then select Set to Current Page and that will become your web page when you first open Safari.

I do not know if this will remove all Genieo files. Hope this helps!

I added an update to my ibook G4 & the next day when i went to use it I am unable to start up safari, itunes, or iweb. also if i try to do an update i have the same issue. it states that safari had...

The update has been either the wrong one for your system (apparently you have tried an update designed for a much newer version of OSX than what you have) or the update process was flawed for some reason.
Try to remove the update. If that fails then the only thing left is a complete reinstall - try to save your files wile you still can.

Safari wont open says "safari quit unexpectedly

That crash message indicates an incompatible 3rd party plug-in (CT_plugin) with Safari. Via the Finder, it will be located in either the HD>Library>Internet Plugins or InputManagers or Application Support Folder. If in neither location, look in your User Account>Library - same two folders. When you find it, move it to the desktop, then restart Safari.

Cannot quit safari before beginning this update

Thank you for contacting Fixya Support

In order to quit Safari before updating, if the web browser cannot be closed normally, you can simply perform a Force Quit by pressing the Apple Command Key + Option Key + the Esc Key and this will bring a window up displaying all currently open applications including Safari.

If you see that Safari is listed in that window, it should have a "Not responding" tag next to its name.
Simply click on the Safari name and press the Force Quit button and it will close out the Safari application.

If you require more information or assistance with this issue, please don't hesitate to reply to this post.

Safari Browser makes the 15" PB G4 unusable

I would go info safaRI, and empty cache and reset safari, then go to software update and see if there is an update. I would also check to see if your OSX is up to date. If you are not running 10.4, i would update to at least 10.4.9. If you are running 10.4, i would get a dvd copy of 10.4 and perform what is called an archive and install.
