Sound Device Deae Rank, My System was re-installed and since then the sound device failed to function. If I need to play a cd in my computer system, it will indicate, your sound device is not functioning. what do i do to solve this problem that will make my sound system be audible and showing?

You need drivers for your sound card .use the cd that came with your motherboard and insert it and when it starts you will see a option to install sound drivers and when it is installed successfully you will be able to hear sound from you computer...

Sound problems with Windows XP 2002


The very first thing we should do is to check whether the sound card is installed in your system.
To check open device manager. Here are steps to open device manager
  • Go to the control panel
  • Click on the System Icon
  • Click on the Hardware Tab
  • Click on the Device Manager then
  • Double Click on Sound, video and game controller.
If you do not see Sound and audio controllers, then you have to install it,

Installation of Sound Card.
  • Go to the control panel
  • Click on the System Icon
  • Click on the Hardware Tab
  • Click on the Device Manager then
  • Select the Multimedia Controller or Sound and Audio Control the yellow Question Marks sign on it.
  • Right click on Multimedia Controller and uninstall it.
  • After this go to the top of the device manager and click on scan for hardware changes.
  • Driver installation Wizard start.
  • Browse Your Driver from the Hard Disk and click on next.
  • You can also install the drivers from CD.
Driver will be installed if the problem is still exist. Replace the sound card or have a local tech take a look at the sound card.

The problem was your sound device. Mite be u r not installed ur sound driver. so first install sound driver then restart the system. when starting the system you can here the sound.

There is problem with your sound card.For this

Pls enable the sound device from System BIOS ,for this re-start the system and press Del. or F2 button on POST .After that select sound controller and select enable mode.After that login through administrator and install the compatible sound driver from the Motherboard CD of from internet .

Control Panel - System - Device Manager - Sound adapter
instal driver. Go to manufacturers website to find the correct sound driver. You do not need a CD driver, just a sound card driver.

What is your motherboard type and model? If you purchased your computer a brand new unit,a CD installerforit device drivers shouldcome with it. If you have that Device driver installer CD,try installing from the CD device installer that came with your new PC.
