I get a F-10 error on my beeping glasstop frigidaire.

  • Joe Ahearn Jun 30, 2008

Um... same issue, although what lead up to the beeping might explain what happened. Was using the stove last weekend to make popcorn, when a weird smell started coming from the back. Long story short, we removed the back casing (after unplugging the stove) to find a rat had jammed itself in-between what must be the main electrical cable bundle in the lower center of the back of the stove, and basically exploded. This was very disgusting to clean, and after I had finished and covered most of the stove with bleach, I let the whole unit sit for almost a week so I could forget the details.

I plug it in after all this, and it beeps endlessly, unless I unplug it (although the sound dims if I hold down the clock button...). Is this the same issue? Do I need to purchase this part you speak of?

I guess, I wouldn't even mind only having the stove top, even if just temporarily, but I can't deal with the beeping...

"F1" is an Electronic Oven Control (EOC) Board failure error code. The top stove functions will continue to operate normally, but you probably will not have any bake or broil capabilites as this board controls all your oven functions. This is a very simple repair that you can accomplish yourself, but the price may be something to consider.

Searspartsdirect.com has the part listed under the "Backguard" heading as item number 20 (part #316101001) and lists for $174.

Repairclinic.com has the part listed as item number 496226 and lists for slightly less at $170.

If you do not have a warranty or service plan in place, you, unfortunately, will have to suffer the cost. If you wish to pursue this as a do-it-yourself repair, let me know and I will give you easy step-by-step instructions on how to replace it. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have further questions.

My caloric stove started beeping and a code F7 came up. We hit cancel but it wouldnt clear or stop. What can i do?

On most Caloric stoves, the F7 error indicates a short detected at the key pad or a stuck key. Try unplugging the stove (or turning it off at your circuit breaker) for 30 seconds or longer. Check that the glass touch panel is correctly seated over the membrane with the switches. The usual recommendation is to replace the touch pad. (Sometimes, the problem will be with the wiring or the ERC (clock) that reads the touch pad signals.)

What model stove do you have? If you add a comment with the model number, I may be able to point you towards the correct parts. If the stove is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer.

I hope this helps.

I need to replace the glass cooktop on my Maytag electric stove

  1. Open oven door and remove two screws that secure top.
  2. Lift up front and slide forward about 8 inches so that you can disconnect two wire couplings.
  3. Place on table upside down(I put newspaper down to catch the broken shards of glass) and remove burner unit (1piece, 4 screws).
  4. Place old burners on new stovetop in the same position as original.
  5. Remove 4 white plastic shims (round) from old stovetop and put on new stovetop.
  6. Tighten all screws and then sit it back on stove (two front tabs fit into slots) and then insert screws into holes and tighten.
  7. Took about 20 minutes, including vacuuming broken glass from inside burners and cleaning grease form crevices between burners and old stovetop.
  8. Wrap old stovetop in the newspapers that are underneath it and place it all in a plastic garbage bag to avoid any broken glass from falling out.

GE gas stove top igniters won t stop clicking

I got this problem yesterday. My 6-month old GE range/stove top was being cleaned by a cleaning lady and suddenly, the igniters started clicking nonstop. I had to shut down the circuit breakers. I googled the problem, and it seemed clear that the "spark switches" got moisture on them. The best site which described this is: http://www.appliance411.com/archive/25012_ge_gas_cooktop_not_working_.shtml

Some people said you could dry them with a blow dryer, and others said you need to replace these switches (which is not too expensive, but takes some time/skill). I was hoping against this, so I tried something along those lines: I removed all the parts of the stovetop - the grill, the "cap", the metal funky piece, etc. until there was nothing but the surface of the stove and holes going down to the igniter area. Then, I took an electric fan and kept it pointed at the stovetop all night long. After about 10 hours, I turned the circuit breaker back on. No more clicking! And the burners all work! So, I think I essentially did the "hair dryer" solution, but did it more longterm without having to watch the clock to see if I did it long enough. Anyway, I don't normally post these things, but this discovery really helped me and I hope it helps someone else!

PF on Whirlpool super capacity 465 electric Stove Model RF366PXGW2

PF = Power Failure. Sounds like you have a bad electrical connection. With your breaker off, check that the connections from the cord to the range are all good and tight. Next, check the receptacle where the cord plugs in. Remove the cover and check the connections there as well. Examine the power cord also. There could even be a poor connection at the breaker box (at the circuit breaker or the neutral buss bar) but not as likely, as your problem appeared when you moved your range.

Kenmore Stove Glass top

Hello,

I have a Kenmore glass stove, not sure what the model number is I don't have it with me right now. Yesterday, the timer started to beep and F1 started to flash in the display. The stove top is working, but the oven does not. The only way I can get the timer to stop beeping is to unplug the stove.

Any suggestions as to what is going on with this stove. It's only 4 years old.

Thanks
