I HAVE AN EPSON R320 PRINTER. I RECENTLY CHANGED THE PRINTER INK, HOWEVER THE MAINTENANCE LIGHT REMAINS ON INDICATING I NEED TO CHANGE THE SAME INK I JUST INSTALLED, AND THE PRINTER WILL NOT WORK AS ONE INK IS FINISHED.
I HAVE UNPLUGGED THE PRINTER, AND RESTARTED IT HOWEVER THE PROBLEM REMAINS.
I WILL APPRECIATE ANY SUGGESTIONS YOU CAN PROVIDE

Yes, you need to change the maintenance box when it is full. The box stores the waste ink that goes through the print head during a cleaning cycle. Without changing this, you could get ink throughout the printer. This could damage the hardware in the printer.
One key diagnostic you need to perform is a nozzle check. This will
tell you what has happened to the other ink colours as much as indicate
if yellow is polluting other nozzles. You can run a nozzle check from Printing Preferences > Maintenance. Once it has printed you should (normally) see a sort of stepped grid pattern similar to this. If
you can scan or take a photo of the output and the post it as a follow
up it'll then be possible to get a bit more of an idea of what could be
happening.
Power off the printer, check for obstructions.
Move the print head to the left side, then again check for obstructions.
Make sure the cartridge cover is closed.
Try to reinstall your inks, push them down the cartridge holder until they click.
just press the ink button (with the drop symbol) once and the carriage will move to change ink position, you can now change the cartridge. when your done, just press the ink button once again.
You need to reset waste ink counter. Don't forget to replace or wash waste ink pad. Or just extend outlet pipe from head cleaning mechanics to outside bottle.Use SSC latest version or R320 adjusment program. Find at indoreset.blogspot.com. Or contact me if you don't find out there. It's free.
Reset waste ink counter using SSC ver. 4.30. You can find at indoreset.blogspot.com. Don't forget to replace waste ink pad, washing or extend outlet pipe from head cleaning mechanic to outside of printer.
This message indicates that your waste ink pads are full and require replacing. Replacement is costly, messy and requires the printer to be taken completely apart. Most often the counter has "jumped" to the end of life number, this especially happens where 3rd party or refilled inks have been used. If you believe this to be the case and there is no sign of ink leakage and the pads look fairly clean then you can just reset the counter using special software called the SSC utility. See these sites: http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html
More information about this issue and the "official" Epson resetter is available from the Epson web site, please read this link: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp
Please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.
Here is how to get the ink cartridges to move to the changing position on the R320.
1. Press the paper jam/ink button on the printer control panel. 2. A menu comes up. 1st item is ink cartridge replacement. Press OK button. 3. Another menu with ink cartridge replacement. Press OK button. 4.
Thats it, ink cartridges move to the changing position. Change your
cartridge as you normally would and follow prompts on screen to finish
process.
Is it a refilled cartridge that you are using?
