We may not have enough information about it but let me set it to bits. Is it your PC / Laptop that doesnt have connection wirelessly or is it you netgearwgr614v5?
By default netgears wireless conneciviy is turned ON by default . If this doesnt work pls check admin settings by accesing 192.168.1.1on your address bar and make sure wireless is enabled . Best if reset to its default settings by pressing the reset button at the back of your router. By doin this your router will be back to factory settings and by that the time you can check if wireless is on { LED light } .
Also check encryption , your wireless client installed on your PC or Windows Zero Configuration is started.

Go to control panel, then Network and Internet connections
then network connections
double click local area connection
go to the support tab
put the default gateway code into your browser address bar.
if it requires a code, the name is admin and the password is password.
youll get to a web page, go to wireless settings.
type in the name of your roter in the first box (ssip or something)
if its already in there then im not sure what to do. just adjust the setttings in this area and it should work.
