It could be a case of that you have an add-on that is not up to date try updating all your add-ons by clicking tools at the top of your internet explorer and select add-ons it will load with a list of add-ons attached to your internet explorer and should show you all the add-ons that are out of date, If you update all your add-ons and I.E is still running very slow then try to upgrade the I.E you are using for EG : If you are running I.E 8 upgrade it to I.E 9 ( Please note that I.E 9 is for Windows Vista up). If all this fails try using the chkdsk feature that comes built-in to all windows. To do this is easy I will tell you how in case you do not know.
1. Open up your start bar or Start orb. 2. Scroll up to programs 3. Left Click Accessories. 4. left click dos shell. 5. Type cd\ ( Please note this will take the directory base level or C:\ ) 6. You will get so far in to the test and it will report that it could not complete as windows is being used and will ask if you wish to run this test when your computer restarts type y for yes and press enter and the dos shell should close by itself if it does not close simply click the x in the corner of dos shell window and restart your computer. 9. This will intiate a blue screen similar to a setup screen and if it finds any problems it will fix them for you and generate a report on what it has found and fixed, Your computer will continue to start up as usual from there and hopefully this has solved your problem. If not please refer to your computers manufacturer for further technical assistance. I hope this helps.

If your system is PC Restore Equipped, it will show show a black page with a blue bar across the top after the Dell Splash Screen. the bar will have www.dell.com in White letters. If you see this page for about a second during the boot process, the system is PC Restore Equipped. At the page with the blue bar, press CTRL+F11 and that will initiate the restore process. Providing the image is not damaged, then restore process takes about 20 to 30 minutes and will return the system to out of box configuration. If there are any errors or if the PC Restore page is not available, then you'll have to do a clean install of Windows using the Dell Windows XP CD that came with the system, then load drivers and applications.
