Question about Kenmore 45081 Front Load Washer / Dryer

Kenmore All in One?Dryer Heat Minimal?Excessive Dry time

Greetings,

I just hooked up the All In One, I got from a friend—after completely cleaning all interior surfaces of lint—from years of neglect. The unit is sound, and washed two loads efficiently. The back wall of the dryer became hot to the point of 'un-touchable,' but the load of lightweight items (t-shirts/pyjamas)—took forever to dry. The vent output was warm, the lint collected on the screen, normal.

The items in the dryer were never HOT when I checked the load; not even a little. It was as if ONLY the backwall was being heated by the element.

What do you make of it?

Thank you for your consideration.

Be sure vent to outside is not plugged or partially block be sure vet tube in back is not compressed flat or folded basically be sure you have good air flow to outside to take the moisture to the outside away from the clothes

When my washer is on the spin cycle it goes out of balence shuts down no matter wht size load or how i arange the load never completes the spin cycle this is a kenmore elite oasis 5 years old. #2 problem...

as for the washer there maybe a broken spring or where the spring attaches that balances the drum. look for this firest. for the dryer is it spinning around at the right speed if it is then the belt is ok. is it hot inside the dryer after running it when you open the door. if ti is check the dryer vent hose and exterior door at end of hose to see it they are plugged up . if the hose is plugged up the heat and moisture can't excape and the clothes will take a long time to dry.

Dryer not heating like it was before. It does not dry in one cycle. It takes 2 60 minute cycles to dry clothes.

Hi,

If your
dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have not taken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then you need to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should take place. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causes for your dryer to fail.

I have a kenmore HE2 dryer and matching washer. It is 3 years old. It works and eventually clothes do dry. It does heat up. But it doesn't heat up as hot as it used to and it takes twice as long to dry...

Make sure you check your exhaust line and where the air blows to the outside. If your exhaust vent or hose is bent or restricted it will take a very long time to dry the clothes. Sometimes the vent flap on the outside exhaust is stuck shut. Clear dryer exhaust venting is critical for proper operation. Several companies offer a vent cleaning service where they completely clean out the exhaust lines.

Not drying enough

usually not drying enough, follows the statement long dry times, 2 or 3 cycles to complete the dry,
inspect your vent exhaust, and the entire length of the vent
you may have some sort of restrcction slowing down the exhaust which will cause heavy cycles,
the heat backs up inot the machine, and causes false high heat

Matag NeptuneDryer MD5500AWW - intermittent heat - not drying

this is joyce
It is as you guessed your sensor. it is usually located in door but some models are in back of machine on inside, go online download document papers go to maytag.com put in model# and then download your model # and it will show you where your sensor is located, it should be simple to replace. I had the same problem with my dryer.
I am glad you said you checked the dryer lines because if these get clogged up they will cause the dryer not to dry the clothes correctley. very smart....if you need me to help let me know.

thanks,

joyce

It takes a long time to dry a load of clothes

sounds as if you may have an issue with a blocked/clogged ventin, perhaps wher it leaves the home, a unit that is not able to expell the heat will tend to not dry the clothes properly, 2-3x to dry a good sign of venting issue
