Remove last digit on a it3800

You should try downloading the configuration manual from Honeywellaidc, it should probably be there still.
When you have the setup book, search for data transmision options.

How do i set up my LS2208 to read UPC Extension 5 currently it will only scan in the first barcode (12digit)

If you're running an older system and everything is being converted to code 39 then the ext
must have corresponding extrapolation or symbology in 3 of 9 or 2 of 5 or whatever you're using. You can reconfigure it to ignore or add spaces for unrecognized characters.
Here is a free online manual. Sorry, but I'm not a paid expert so if the manual doesn't help or you don't have administrative rights you should repost and ask for a paid expert.
Anyway, you can enable these functions if you have the access. Hope this helps.
Good luck

SPACE problem. Hello i have Symbol LS 2208. I need remove space/gap from this code 09/ 5864 I tried to create rule for this (remove all spaces) but it wasn´t work - the scanner scaned no data. I use...

Hello, if all your barcodes have the same structure, it will an easy task. You would need to scan following barcodes from ADF chapter in the Product Reference Guide located at
Create New Rule Send Characters Up To Space Character in Alfanumeric Section Skip Ahead 1 Send All That Remains Save Rule
This will by all scanned barcodes send all characters up to the space character, skip the space and send the rest of data.

I have a new LS4278. I need to congigure it to read fedex barcode

All you have to do is create a rule to transmit only the 12 digits you want.
You can create a rule with the Programming manual or the 123scan software.
Both of these are available online at Here is a short cut:

Scanner is putting an asterisk before and after barcode numbers when I scan - where can I find barcodes or other help to re-calibrate? thanks

Hello mtechman. The first thing you should know is that some people use Code39 barcode 'fonts' to create their barcodes. With these, the creator will need to put an asterisk before and after the barcode's 'human data' to transmit a 'start/stop' command. Sometimes, the barcode already has a start/stop command integrated so the asterisks that are put in the 'human data' are extraneous and are perceived as part of the code that needs to be transmitted. If this is the case, then unfortunately, there really isn't a good way to remove those asterisks.
However, I think this will fix your problem. I have the programming manual hosted on my company's website for our clients ( Take a look at page 63. This page has the options on whether to transmit start/stop characters (the asterisks). This should take care of your problem. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Code 128 Barcode Problem

Hello paul blando. I think I can help you here. First, are you sure your barcodes with asterisks are Code128 like the others? Generally a Code128 barcode will look like: "(1234) 567890 (01) 123456" and wouldn't really use asterisks at all. However, I know that it is standard practice for people who make their own Code39 barcodes to start and end the code with an asterisk to denote a start/stop action. Could they be Code39? They would look like: "*123456789*". If this is the case, then I have the manual for the P370/P470 on my company's site here. Take a look at the Code39 Chapter and make sure to print and scan the pages to disable the check-digit transmittal. If that doesn't do the trick, then try the "recall defaults" or "reset to defaults" barcode to reset the scanner to it's initial defaults. That should put it on track. If you still have trouble, please feel free to send me a message or email me. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Can the Symbol LS4804-I400A scanner scan a QR code bar code?

No, this is a Laser Scanner. The laser beam can scan the barcode only in 1 direction (1D Barcodes). For QR Barcode (2D) you would need an Imager (Digital Scanner).

Ean 13 problem

you are probably reading to a inteligent software package like Excell, which sees the inputted data as a number (so ignores leading zeros) you need to specify to the sytem that the incoming numbers are TEXT not numbers.
