The sound will not work through the tv alone or the surround sound. I can watch a dvd without issue, but once I switch the input back to the tv/cable box receiver, there is no sound. I've checked every menu I could find related to sound and nothing seems to help. It is only a few months old and has never had a problem before

though you have not mentioned about the cabling connections you have done, for the sake of correct
connection I describe all the possible cabling alternatives to you..You
can select whichever you want.. TO WATCH DVD ON THE TV: ** Receiver's "AUDIO and VIDEO OUTPUT as " 2xRCA Audio+1x Video " or "Optic Cable OUTPUT or " HDMI Output " of your Home Theater Receiver (whichever you want ,based on the existing sockets and necessary cables on your hand ) **
AT TV side : you need to connect "Audio+ Video input s " as can either be : 3xRCA jacks or
"Optic cable input " or HDMI IN connector of your TV , ** than just switch to
DVD mode on Receiver and play DVD *You can use "HDMI" connections as well but sometimes HDMI creates problem on Audio.. TO LISTEN YOUR TV ON SURROUND SYS. **

Pls remember.."IN " goes to "OUT" or vice versa..all the times..
There you go..Both Tv and DVD sound are on the Receiver as SURROUNDING SOUND.By this means ,whatever you watch on the TV will come thru your Receiver's SURROUNDING SOUND speakers as well.
Hope this helps!..if more help requires pls let me know. Take care
hello, I've watch your problem on youtube , that problem can be from main board. But to make sure main board problem, you should check without inputs first. Unplug all input (HDMI, Component, AV in, PC). Than turn on your tv again. If that conditions still appear, i suggest you to call samsung technician to repair it. Good luck.
What cables are you using for the XBOX and the digital box? What surround sound system are you using (what receiver)? Which model of Dynex 32" TV do you have? Looking at the DX-L32-10A, I can connect both devices to the TV and then the audio out to the surround sound system.
If HDMI, then that will carry the audio to the TV and then you would need an audio cable from the audio out on the TV to the surround sound speakers. Similarly, if you use component video and the audio cable combination, there are 2 component video jacks and 3 audio-in jacks on the rear of the TV. Then connect another cable from the audio out of the TV to the surround sound system. (This TV has one audio out and a headphone jack.)
If you previously had the audio going from the Rogers digital box directly to the surround sound system, you need to reroute things unless there are two or more sets of audio in jacks on the surround sound system. Some surround sound system can take several HDMI in cables and then route it to the TV on a HDMI out port.
Without more information, I can't be sure of the best option for your cables.
I hope this gets you started and please provide more information for additional suggestions.
Get a fiber optic (Toslink Optical) cable to plug into the TV's optical OUT between the red/white RCA audio and the spot where you plug in your cable TV, to the Optical IN on your HT-DS610. This way all audio coming in to your TV from any source goes directly to your hi-fi in all it's splendor.
Hi I have an RCA Truflat TV and a philips Surround sound dvd all in one system and a jvc dish system. I have had my surround working up until my nephews messed with it and hooked up a wii system to it. Now I get no sound on my surround sound and I have tried rearranging the cables but I can not get any sound from the surround sound and for the life of me I can not rember how I originaly had it set up. can you help?
Check carefully the RCA conections or others.Sometimes this conections break inwards end cause this problems.Check also the lead and the Set up from surround sound.Verify if the TV has settings for this kind of operation. A strong hug !!!
