I have a cd45z and it is wiried corectly according to the instructions, the
problem is that it stays hot(chassis) and it will drain the battery on my car
overnight, I would not believe that the mamory wire draws that many amps I have
checked and double checked the wiring and it is correct, could the instructions
be wrong, it is in a 00 civic, red to red y-y black to black remote to remote,
and all tree sets of rcas are being run deck amp is not being used, please help
it is depressing having to jump a new car every day.................

civic, also there is a ppi 5440 amp but it shuts off when the car and deck do,
the deck shuts off when the key is removed, etc. because even if I pull the
maxi fuse out of the distribution block that is poering the amp it has this
problem it has to be the harness i guess, i will have to get out my multi-meter
i guess

problem. Did you use a wiring harness or did you cut your factory harness
off.

confirm that the unit is connected properly? That the 12V is not
constant on the red lead?
Also did you add anything else to your car/system when you installed
the head unit?

Does the radio shutoff when you turn back/take out the key?
Did you add anything else besides just the head unit? (Amp?)
If you have an amp.... is that shutting off when the radio is turned off after the
ignition is turned off(key is removed)?
I'd check the amp ... I hope you find the problem ...
I can totally imagine this sucks.
