Sounds like a short in the mouse just buy a new one, and rechargable batteries.

Dead battery I want to 'recycle'

This option is worth a shot:

There is also the cheaper alternative third-party sellers:

Generally speaking, Li-ion batteries should not be frozen. Putting the battery in a cool place will help a little, in that while the battery is cold its 'aging' will slow. It will start to lose capacity permanently at a normal rate when it warms up again.

I hope some of this information has helped. If it has please rate, if not please let us know.

The battery is dead

what happens if you put the mouse on the charger and leave it there for 2-4 hours?

Does it recharge?

I supose you could replace the recharable battery yourself by opening the mouse and so on, but finding the right type of a battery for it might not be as easy as that. Id recommend takeing it to warranty repairs if it still has such.

Other options would be to buy a new mouse.
