Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I have a targus rechargeable wireless notebook mouse that seems to be having issues out of the blue. I have had this for almost a year, and this is the first time I have had a problem with it. I plugged in the receptor to my laptop USB port and turned on my mouse but for some reason the mouse wasn't moving. I thought maybe the batteries were low so I charged them for a while but I still have the same problem. Then I tried plugging the receptor into a different port, and I got a message saying something like the drivers were not recognized or not installed or something..I don't remember as I've been fiddling with this for hours and haven't been able to get that message again, or any for that matter. So I clicked on the message and checked for driver updates, but it said it had the latest, so I didn't understand why it wasn't working. I plugged it into yet another USB port (I have 4), and nothing happened. I've done this repeatedly in all 4 ports and nothing has changed. I've read through the tech support on the targus website, but that hasn't helped much. When I look through my hardware devices, supposedly, I should see an HID (USB Human Input Devices) section..which I don't, nor have I been able to figure out how to get it. Long story short, my computer has stopped recognizing my mouse, and doesn't even acknowledge that it's plugged in at all. And I really don't have the patience to wait a day or two or three or thirty for an answer on the Targus website. HELP!! thx.

My keyboard & mouse keep going off (MX5000) This has happened so many times, I would like to get a new keyboard and mouse. I have a 3 year warranty, and I'm angry today, because I was very busy in my home...

Check the rechargable battery, in the mouse and keyboard if it's wireless, if not, get back with me. Also check your bluetooth settings, I am leaning more toward that. Bluetooth is sometimes troublesome. Use the default settings, if you can, keep a spare usb mouse around for times like this. These machines get touchy sometimes, and the more "stuff", they have to do, the more likelly a problem will arise. If that's not the problem please let me know if you installed any new hardware or sofware apps, since the last time you used it for this task, thanks

How to set up and use targus wireless computer mouse model#amw26

Under the mouse there should be a usb stick attached to the mouse which most likely should slide out from the mouse. It also appears that the plastic cover behind the two buttons (this cover has targus written on it) Should come off. After you remove the usb stick there might be a button somewhere on the bottom of the mouse that you should be able to press to get the battery cover to pop up. Then you should be able to pull up on the battery cover and remove it from the mouse. This mouse takes two AA batteries. Once the batteries are installed then plug the usb stick into any of the usb ports on the computer. The computer should recognize the drivers for this mouse (if you are using Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or Mac OS X [or higher]). If the drivers are not immediately recognized then restart your computer and the computer should then recognize the mouse. If this still does not happen then let me know. Also there is software that can be downloaded from the Targus website for the tilt wheel as it has some added capabilities that can be set using this software. The link for that software is here ------> http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=AMW26US

I hope this helps, and enjoy that mouse, it looks pretty nice!

I've charged my Targus wireless mouse (PAKP003U) and plugged in the USB adapter thing, making sure the light is on. The mouse is on also, but it is still not working.

Your windows computer must install the drivers for the wireless adapter for your mouse when you plugged it in. Given that the light is on the adapter I'm assuming it works.

There should be a small button on the mouse and the adapter somewhere. Press the button with a paperclip or something small enough to get to it and the light should start flashing. Now press the button on the mouse. Both lights should be on solid.

This connects both the adapter and mouse on the same wireless channel to work together.

Good Luck!

Un-install the mouse driver. Disconnect the wireless mouse hup and shut down your computer. Re-attach your wireless mouse hub and your computer should reconize the hardware and automaticaly install the hardware driver.
