Yes, fat and slim have different screens, + maybe you haven't remembered to charge it because it has been broken for a while? If not then ask the tech who fixed it for you, or if you fixed it yourself check all the connections and if you can't fix it go to a local computer shop, they may be able to help you with the problem.

It could be a number of things. 1. When you don't play your psp for awhile the battery dies. So try plugging it in. 2. If you have ran any online downloaded program recently you could have the bricker virus. Witch you would have to send it to sony to be fixed. 3.Try removing your memory stick and battery then turn it on with the power adapter plugged in.
with some research and basic pc knowledge you can hopefully fix your psp. I cannot write you a guide as there are two many things to consider and its much easier for you to look up a guide thats specific to the psp you have.
google " Pandoras battery "
read everything you can then read it again
i hope this points you in the right direction of a fix good luck!
Your LCD screen has a lost connection internally. I have seen this a few time over the last few months. You will need to get a new LCD screen for your PSP installed. I recommend even if your technically endowed, that you get an experienced person to do this. The PSP is very tricky and delicate. Click on "repair Directory" at the bottom of this screen, then Select "Video Game Consoles" Pick a Repair shop that has replaced PSP LCD screens before.
If you are somebody another person had done the mistake while updating your PSP. For eg:
1) Removed the battery.
2) Unplugged the charger of your PSP.
3) Removed the UMD.
then it is possible that your PSP is bricked it means it is useless untill you replace the motherboard with a new one.
if the psp screen is anything like a laptop it will have a backlight that lights up the screen what can happen is you can break the light and while you will still see things on the screen when you look closely but it wont be illuminated. i had a friend that dropped his laptop and smashed the backlight he sent it away and got it fixed
i suggest you send it to sony to get it fixed
