Yeah just buy a new one. Most likely you damaged the screen which is highly sensitive. It would just be cheaper to buy a new one rather than get it fixed.

Tiny black spot lcd

Erika, Do you mean you have a black spot on the LCD of your camera?
We call that a dead pixel. Can be black and can be white. Most LCD's sooner or later have a one or more dead pixel(s). As long as they are not in the centre of the screen you won't notice them. Even dead pixels on the camera sensor can happen. These you won't see at all, because the software does calculate what that pixel would look like in that specific shot. And the software will place a correct colour on that spot.
Try to live with the dead pixel(s). you won't see them on the actual pictures. Not on the computer to tablet and not on a print.

Accidently stood on it.Now the screen stays on white even after changing sd card.

You will have to get the lcd screen replaced. It is most probably cracked where the connectors hook up to it. It is white because you see the backlight - because there are no lcd pixels turned on. (When an lcd pixel is activated, it blocks light.) Shouldn't cost too much to have done, $100 or so, but I'm guessing at that. Search online for repair centers, get some online quotes.

Dropped camera, can it be repaired?

Probably just a new one, with more pixels/ better eficiency, and new software. (plus cheaper).

Canon will replace your LCD screen if under warranty. Same thing happened to mine. The blob got bigger and bigger.

What could cause those black and white lines__??

Hi,
if those lines are in the LCD screen of your camera but no in the picture itself, that means that the pixels in the screen  are damaged.

The is a very small blue dot on my Canon xti screen

It can be regarded as normal, yes. All LCD screens will have a percentage of dead pixels, and no manufacturer will guarantee you get a dead-pixel screen on their products.

As you say it does not affect your photos and you can be assured it is not something that is going to get worse - it is a tiny manufacturing defect that is all, but within what they call acceptable limits.

If the camera is brand new you could always take it back and ask for another one, but they are within their rights (I believe) to say no for a single dead pixel.

Bad Pixel in LCD (not CCD)

My camera also has a one bad pixel in the LCD; my pixel is green. My camera was also ordered from Buy.com. They have been very helpful and my story is almost identical to yours for their return/replacement practice. It is really nice to see online companies that continue to offer 'great' prices and also provide great customer support.
