Make sure the vga cable is in tight on the kav-60 and the external monitor.

Try the keystrokes to toggle the display. Normally you would Press and Hold the FN function key located at the lower left on the keyboard then hit the key F1 thru F12 that toggles the display. The correct F1 thru F12 key to hit will have LCD/CRT on it or it will have the icon of a display. The display toggles in three stages ( laptop only, external only or both laptop and external).

If the display works fine when connected to external screen via VGA connector then then the problem is either with the LCD display panel ( which consists of the display panel and inverter ) or the LCD cable that connects the LCD to the motherboard. You could try to re-seat the cable connection on the back of the LCD panel.

The problem is either the screen itself or the motherboard. The screen is generally not too expensive if you know how to replace it yourself. Tech's generally charge a lot for a screen replacement. It's a time consuming process. If the motherboard is shot, then just buy a new laptop. Laptop motherboards can cost almost as much as a new laptop and can be difficult to replace. Any tech shop with a sizable scrap pile should have a screen that they can test on your laptop.

Just a quick note, before you go replace the entire screen, make sure it's not just a wiring problem. If so, it doesn't cost as much to replace the wires connecting the screen to the laptop. LCD's are much more expensive!
As for replacing the display, this website has information on the display, along with the ability to purchase it from their site. http://www.pelltechnology.com/Toshiba/Laptop/Toshiba-Portables-Satellite-P105-Series-S6024/Toshiba-Satellite-P105-S6024-LCD-Screen-Replacement-P350475.asp

Hi! My Dell D610 doesn't charge the battery. When I plug the charger without a batt, the system powers on but the batt doesn't get charged when attached. Help me solve this problem pls.

1. Install and update the system BIOS:
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&ServiceTag=&SystemID=LAT_PNT_PM_D610&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid=
Note: Make sure that both the ac adapter and the battery are attached to the notebook. Follow on-screen instructions on how to flash the BIOS.

2. If Dell QuickSet is installed, press <Fn><F3> to display the QuickSet Battery Meter. The Battery Meter displays status, battery health, charge level, and charge completion time for the battery in your computer. If battery health says that the battery is degraded and needs replacement, then you may need to replace your battery.

Connect broken laptop screen to external monitor

Suggestion- on my toshiba fn-f5 switches display modes, but to remove display connectors, you may have messed up your keyboard ribbon cable connection. it probably has a small sliding lock to hold it in place- if the lock isn't tight, your keyboard may not be recognized, which could mess up your display. Also, make sure your battery is charged and/or your power supply to your laptop is connected. hope this helps!
