Question about Canon ZR830 Mini DV Digital Camcorder
I can't capture video from my camcorder to my PC without a LOT of dropped frames. I've tried Movie Maker, Premiere Elements 4, Nero 8 and WinDV and get massive amounts of dropped frames with each (also, with Movie Maker when I play back what I've captured, everything is double or triple speed).
I noticed that even when I'm cueing up the video using the Preview feature of a program, the playback is choppy. I've also tried 3 different Firewire cables, but now I'm starting to wonder if it's the Firewire card itself (Zonet 4+1 USB/Firewire combo PCI card).
Here are my PC specs:
2.0 GHz processor
1.25 GB RAM
capturing on secondary hard drive:
75 GB capacity
45 GB available
Firewire cards are quite cheap, under $20, replace the card. If you still have problems then it is most likely with the camcorder.
