Panasonic MODLE PT53TW53G led code flashes 3 times convergence problem

I need help!!!!!! I got up and pushed the on button and the TV would not come on and the red led flashed 3 times and stops and then repeats the steps. What could the problem be? I heard that it could be the ic`s in front of the heat sinks so I took out the board but nothing appears to be burnt. But some one said this is a common failure. I also checked the surrounding resistors .and everything appears to be ok there is no discolor on the board except around some diodes and they seam to check out ok. What do you think the problem is?

3 blinks is an error code for the convergence ICs being bad. You will have to replace both the convergence ICs they should be STK392-110 for your model. You can get new replacement ICs at the following link with free instalation instructions with pics so you can do the repair yourself. Heres the link.

The same happened with mine, and i fixed myself., probably your have the same problem according with what you described.
there's a ceramic resistor close to the power supply cord that burn and it is difficult to know until you take it out, if that is the problem just buy a resistor of 1.5 k ohms and solder it across the burned ceramic resistor and put it back in place.
you can find resistors with the same value at radio shack for less than $5.00 bucks.
that solved my problem.
good luck!!

MOST LIKELY problem is the convergence amps but.....
It might be your vertical or horizontal circuit...those initiate a 3 blink failure code too....

Panasonic PT-51HX43G no power, red light flashes

I have a Panasonic PT53TW53G projection tv that had the same problem for power .A terrific person gave us wonderful advice and it fixed our tv! We were told to replace the IC conversion amplifiers. On our model they are STK392-110 (your's may be different). We ordered the parts from www.electronix.com and they were only $12. for the two parts. We also had to purchase a soldering iron and de-soldering vac for removal/replacement of parts. Good Luck!
