Question about Apple iPod nano
I lost my entire hard drive, so purchased a new system.
I was able to load my music from my ipod to itunes, however, when I went to synce after I had made some changes in my library, I was able to sync. Now my ipod lost the music I had on it and all my songs have an " ! " next to it and I am not able to play anything from itunes. Any help?
When you plugged the IPod into the new or cleaned computer, it was like plugging the iPod into a brand new computer with different specs. The formatting options may have changed, and when the iPod tried to adjust for this format difference, the DB or file system could have become corrupted. forutnately, Apple has ways to correct this problem.
To help you, I will need to know what OS you have? Windows XP? Windows Vista?
Of course, this is only one of many possibilities. I would start simple - do the 5 "R's" that Apple suggest in the manual:
Remember these five basic suggestions if you have a problem with your iPod nano. If
one of the following doesn’t help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset your iPod nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.
â Retry with a different USB port if you cannot see iPod nano in iTunes.
â Restart your computer and make sure you have the latest software updates
â Reinstall iPod and iTunes software from the latest versions on the web.
â Restore your iPod nano. See “Updating and Restoring iPod Software” on page 50.
After doing this, try to resync thos songs.
Good luck - let me know if you need more help!
