SOURCE: Kitchenaid dishwasher making funny noises while running
HI. this sounds like a busted impeller in the pump housing. there are two impellers. one for the wash and one for the drain. the drive shaft will strip the impeller center nut, causing this noise. I would inspect the pump housing for lose impeller action. replace the faulty impeller if found to be damaged.
SOURCE: kitchenaid dishwasher, control panel is not
I don't know your technical ability, but there is a fuse located next to the control board inside the console, this is a good place to start. Kitchen Aid is good about putting tech sheets on the back of the kickplate and it should have wiring and diagnostic info there. Just be sure to put the sheets back so the next service tech to work on it will have them :)
SOURCE: Kitchenaid Dishwasher has starting making a real loud noise
Hi Andy and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. That loud noise your hearing is the motor bearings. If you were to remove the lower kick panel you will prbably find signs of a slow leak of water has been trickling through the motor and you will see a water spot under the motor pump assembly.
You were correct in your assumption that it was bearings. What happens is the motor shaft ceramic seal starts leaking long before the home owner even notices it. Then the water gets into the motor and corrosion starts to build up. As the motor turns the bearing starts to spal as a result of the corrosion and you hear the loud noises.
The only fix for this sadly to say is a complete motor impeller assembly replacement. If your model number is the one associated with this post / question: KUDI01FLSS then there is one more digit after the last "S" that being one of the following numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6.
The motor and impeller for your dishwasher Item 10 or 18 can be found here and is listed at $138.44:

The seal that has failed is item 23 of the same link. Changing the seal at this point will not stop the noise.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Hi,
It sounds as though you have a bad or siezed motor....
Take the bottom insides apart and try to spin the motor from the inside...
If it spins freely then you have a bad motor...if something ahs come apart and is jammed inside then you will need to clear/fix that and then you will be okay..

SOURCE: My KitchenAid dishwasher is making
Hi The first thing that should be
checked is the door latch assembly that I believe is bad. It buzzes when the
control sense that the door is open due to a bad door latch assembly. If the
door latch mechanism is fine then it is the control board that is bad and
should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance. Daniel
