Repair a screen nick

I've never seen this done-- typically if an display glass panel is damaged/cracked/chipped on a laptop, it's best to replace it.

Hope this helps!

Cracked display on laptop screen

You have to replace it with new one.
If it doesn't damaged LCD itself, but only the glass, you can still use it, if you don't have money for new one.

Hi i own an ACER aspire 5745G unit, I've accidently scrached the display screen, Everything works well though, But id still like to get the screen glass replaced .. is that possible?? Its a 15.6"...

There is no separate screen glass; the display panel is one piece and needs to be replaced that way. It's actually that way in every laptop, which is why some vendors sell protective covers for laptop screens. So the Acer rep is not giving you the runaround. It's not difficult to change the display yourself if you want to try it. It just involves removing a lot of small screws, and there are how-to sites and videos online. A new display is around $150 (and may be available for less from vendors of used parts).

Broken lcd, how can we go about it.

Call HP to determine if the unit is still in-warranty, and they will be replacing it. Otherwise, you may have to upgrade it through their Out-of-Warrranty programs.

Hi there....i accidentally stepped on my laptop and the screen looks liks its cracked....the actual screen isnt cracked it just looks like it...kinda looks like you can see the inside of it...HELP!!!!

Yup, its cracked. The actual LCD (liquid cristal display) is inside the protective plastic casing and that is supposed to help keep it from being damaged. It has to be replaced..

My bf steped on his laptop and there are 3 cracks that are black and green, can plasma screens befixed on the inside?

Laptop screens are LCD (liquid Crystal Display, most laptop screen are made up of 5-7 layers with the LCD plate in the back all bound together in an aluminum frame with the backlight installed on the bottom to light the LCD up. Thses can be disassembled and the inner plate replaced, but it is cheaper to just replace the whole unit.

Cracked screen can it be fixed

No..the Glass Display Panel ... If cracked... Cannot be repaired.. it is not just a piece of glass, it is a layered panel with pixel grid panels along the top and sides that show color to the grid on the screen panel and go all throughout the display ..

If the Crack ocured behind the display panel on the plexiglass protective panel, that can be replaced... but No Not The Front LCD Display Panel.
