If your JVC head unit AV is not turning on and you're getting no sound at all, there could be several possible causes. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
Check the power source: Make sure the head unit is properly connected to the power source and that the fuse is not blown. If the head unit is not getting power, it will not turn on.
Reset the head unit: Sometimes, a simple reset can solve the problem. Look for a small reset button on the front or back of the unit and press it with a pointed object like a pen or paperclip. If there is no reset button, you can try disconnecting the power source for a few minutes and then reconnecting it.
Check the wiring: Make sure all the wiring is properly connected, including the ground wire. Loose or damaged wiring can cause the head unit to not turn on or produce sound.
Check the speaker connections: Make sure the speakers are properly connected to the head unit and that the wiring is not damaged. If the speakers are not properly connected or the wiring is damaged, you will not hear any sound.
Try a different source: If you're using an external device, such as a CD player or MP3 player, try a different source to make sure the problem is not with the external device.
If none of these troubleshooting steps work, the problem could be with the head unit itself and it may need to be repaired or replaced.
Reset code 08 is usually relates to data connection between head unit and the tuner. If there is any other peripheral units between the main unit and the Satellite tuner, check those also. Remove, clean with contact cleaner and reinstall should take care of majority of issues.
if it is resetting oon shut down , you dont have your memory wire connected to a full time power wire . full time power wire is a wire that has power even when car is off.. this is what saves your memory on the head unit.memory wire is usually yellow.
Hello
To replace lamp in JVC projection TV follow the steps below. [1].Order a compatible replacement lamp from JVC. Order a replacement lamp from JVC's Accessory Store or a local authorized parts distributor to ensure that you obtain a compatible replacement lamp. To order a replacement lamp, you must have the lamp type and lamp code of your JVC projection TV, which can be found on the rear of the television. [2].Turn off the television and allow the bulb to cool. For safety reasons, turn off and unplug your television before accessing any of its internal components. Wait at least 20 minutes before attempting to replace the lamp so that it has time to cool down. If the back of the television is not warm or hot to the touch, it is safe to begin removing the lamp [3].Unscrew and remove the lamp door. The lamp door on JVC projection TVs is located on the rear left of the television and is shaped like a square. Several warnings related to the lamp will be printed on the door. Use a Phillips-head or flathead screwdriver to remove the large screw, then remove the door [4].Unscrew and remove the lamp assembly unit. After you have removed the lamp door, you will see the lamp assembly unit. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws. One screw is on the top right corner of the unit and the second screw is on the bottom left corner of the unit. Detach the lamp assembly unit from the compartment by lifting the handle and pulling the unit away from the television [5].Install the replacement lamp and secure the lamp door. Hold the replacement lamp assembly unit by the handle and insert it straight into the compartment. Reinsert and tighten the two screws onto the lamp assembly unit with a screwdriver. Place the lamp door back onto the television and tighten the screw to secure it to the television [6].Reset the television's lamp timer. Press "Menu" on the television's remote, then scroll to and select "Lamp Timer Reset." Press "OK" to rest the timer. A prompt will appear notifying you that the timer has successfully been reset
JVC head units go into protect mode usually when there is a short circuit on one of the speaker wires. Sometimes this is just caused by moisture in the doors or wherever the speakers are located. The first thing to do would be to reset the unit and see if it fixes the problem. To reset the unit there is a small button behind the faceplate which you will need to push in with a pen or other sharp object. Hold this button in for a few seconds. This will reset the head unit to factory settings which does mean that you will lose all of your saved radio stations, audio settings, color settings etc. If this does not work then one of your speaker wires is probably damaged. To find out which one unplug all of the speakers, reset the unit and plug them back in one at a time. When the unit goes into protect again you have found which speaker is causing the issue. Cheers, Dan
Have you tried pressing the "RESET" button on the stereo? I have a JVC unit in my car and the reset button is a tiny hole behind the detachable face. Take a pencil or a pen and insert the end into the tiny hole an hold for a few seconds. This will reset the stereo and you should be able to eject the CD as you normally would. If it's a mini-disc (8mm) you probably would have to take the unit apart and manually retrieve it - big hassle. Check the owner's manual to find out where the "RESET" button is if it is not behind the face. If you don't have the owner's manual, you can download one from jvc.com.. Hope this helps.
