About 100 to 250 picture according on the resolution of the photos being taken. A 2 GB will hold 500 to 1000, according to the resolution.
So if your going on a trip or something important you may want to buy another 250 GM or upgrade tp a 2 GB card.
Hope this helps

That is not exactly to calculate. It depends on the stored image sizeand quality.
Small pictures could be 400KB a piece, but large ones easily can go up to 6GB
a piece. If you know thye avaerage size of your pictures, you can calculate it.

How can i send pictures from windows photo gallery to verbatim?

When you connect the SmartDisk into the USB port of your computer, the computer will detect this as an external storage device. When you open this SmartDisk you can create folders to store your photos. Just select your photos from your computer where the photos are stored then copy and paste these photos into the folders on the SmastDisk.

There is a program called On track recovery.
This application successfully recovers data from damaged hard disks.

You will need and extra storage where to transfer the recovered data.

I need to transfer some (not all) pictures from my maxtor storage to my computer. How do I do this?

Open the folder containing the pictures.
Hold down the CTRL key, and "click" on each file that you want to select.
When finished selecting, release the CTRL key.
Click with the SECOND (usually the RIGHT) mouse-button on one of the pictures. Choose 'copy' and pick a "target" for the copy-process.

Is it truly broken or just not working, ie, not being recognized?

If it is broken, there are companies who specialize in data recovery.

One site is:

I've never used such a service, but they will give you a free quote.

I am looking for an external drive to save pictures

Hi jodybertram,

Digital photos take up differing amounts of disk space depending on their resolution. For instance, a small picture such as a logo from a website would take up substantially less space than a picture you would use for your desktop wallpaper. If you are looking to use your USB drive for photos, you may want to shop around in the store for memory cards first, as they commonly have a chart that translates storage capacity to the number of photos per resolution. This may help you decide which size flash drive to purchase.

Thank you,
Jason,
