Question about Video Cameras
Hi, I have a Sony Digital 8 HandyCam which I bought in 2001/2. My husband lost the instruction book. I'd like to connect it to my Mac G5 to transfer movies to CD's. Can I do this with a usb cable? Will I need any translation software or should iMovie be able to read it? Pam
You both need to use a firewirecable to download video-not usb-the camcorders always have a 4 pin connection and you will need a 6 pin on other end for mac or a 4 pin for window laptops-also use 6 pin for most desktops-when buying cable ask for 4 to 4 or 4 to 6 pin firewirecable-imovie should be fine in windows use movie maker which is in windows already under program menu-says dv on cam to connect-make sure you have firewire port on computer also-if not add a card to include one
