car parts stores carry car parts, advance and autozone can both get you shifter cables, some folks sell them on ebay

Go to eBay and search for a saturn shifter bushing kit. these are less than 20 bucks, happens frequently on saturn. same kit fits all S series. if you can pull the console, you can put this in.
if you are in a hurry parts stores may have them in stock too.

What happen the grommet at the end of the shifter cable broke, this grommet is not sold by it's self, it is sold with the cable as one and a dealer item only, what you can try is remove the cover over the shifter and with a short piece of vacum hose and a tie down or hose clamp, you can put it in there in the place of the grommet, this is just a short fix, cable will have to be replace.

Look at autozone, advance, ebay motors. They are out there if you just keep looking.

This just happen to me a few weeks ago. If you take out the center piece in the car you should be able to see that the actual shifter is no longer connected to the rod which goes into the transmission. It is an easy problem to fix, however it is not cheap. I was told that you have to buy a complete new kit($250.00) for the shifter, however my dad gave me a different solution. He took some wire, and made a spider web type thing to keep it connected. On my car it was a small round plastic piece that broke, but I cannot remember what it was actually called. This little piece is not available through Saturn by itself, only through a complete kit. Please ask questions if this is not clear enough. Thanks :)

If both cable ends are attached then the cable broke. Replace it.

yes most likely your shifter cable end broke out under your console.You will have to get a cable repair end of E-Bay for about $18.00 The Sellers handle is (saturnbushinghennie) I have bought preanty of those cable repair ends from him.Saturn Doesn't sell just the end piece!!
