Thank you for responding to my issue (video freezing when in full screen). I was curious if your suggestion of downloading the K-Lite codecs was for Windows Media Player only, or for all video. My particular problem is watching videos online....in particular, music videos on launch.com and some other sites.
This computer is on Vista Home Premium with an Intel GMA 3100 video processor.

Have you considered doing a complete recovery of your operational system, I'am suggesting this because of the fact you have to many program conflicts due to device drivers that are not working properly.
is the cpu fan working if so you may have to remove it and clear any dust or fluff that has collected on the heat sink. sometimes you cannot see the fluff etc until fan removed. If fan not working replace fan
you can try this ,
check the monitor on the different wall outlet/ socket or check with different computer wheather it gives the same issue .. third option is check with both DVI and VGA ports differnetly.. please check wheather you are getting lines on the bios screen when u start the system because if you r getting lines on the BIOS screen (f1) then there is a issue with the monitor else issue with the video card ................try this ,if possible revert for the same issue
